Childhood kisses so sweet, nothing more than memories of joy. Nothing bitter in children's love, no heartache or despairing memories. A goodbye is not the end, doesn't even leave an imprint on our hearts. There's no misery for the children.

Kristine glanced down at the lollipop ring on her finger and a wide grin spread over her delicate face. Ace thought it was the prettiest smile he'd ever seen, although he had thought the same thing the last time she smiled. Honestly, she just kept getting prettier and prettier, he had thought it to be impossible, that was before he met Kristine.
"Will this be the last ring you ever give me?" She wondered aloud, shaking Ace back to the present. The corners of her mouth lowered slowly until her grin turned into a frown. "I'll miss you."
He leaned forwards and gave her a peck on the lips. "I'll miss you too." He replied.
Her striking blue eyes stared up at him through her long lashes. Then with a pout, she crossed her arms at her chest and sat down on a swing. "I don't want to move!" She stated stubbornly.
"It will be fine." Ace assured her as he sat down on the swing beside her.
His mom always told him that Kristine was lucky to have him to always talk some sensibility into her impulsive and stubborn head. Ace felt it his duty to always do.
"How do you know?" Ten-year-old Kristine asked him sullenly. "You won't be there."
"No, I won't be there," He admitted and fished in his pocket until he caught hold of the locket and pulled it up in front of her. "But with this, you'll always have a part of me with you, at least."
The locket was in form of a thin silver chain and a small, cordate silver compartment was hanging from it. Kristine accepted it into her hands gingerly, as if the necklace was worth a billion bucks. She opened the compartment with the same tentativeness and a smile quirked up her lips again when she saw the picture inside of the heart.
The picture had been taken a month ago at the fair, their families had gone together there. Kristine had dragged Ace to the photo booth as soon as they'd bought some cotton candy to share. She had been so excited when she collected the strip of four little photos, now they were like the couples on Disney channel, she had told him proudly.
"It's beautiful" Thanked Kristine with a single tear running down her cheek as she smiled down at the picture of the two of them. They weren't looking at the camera, instead, they were both laughing at the other's cotton candy mustache.
She checked her wristwatch as she let out an adorable little sniff.
"Shoot" She frowned. "I have to go"
Ace couldn't find the right word to say at the moment, so they simply shared one last kiss. It was a little longer than usually and more meaningful, Ace could vaguely taste her salty tears on her wet lips, more tears were falling down on her sun dress by the second.
Then they uttered a set of quiet goodbyes and Kristine left, leaving Ace by himself in the empty park.

Just gotta say, I'm NOT giving up on Fighting Stars, I just really wanted to write this story too.
By the cover and summary, you'd perhaps expected this story to be humorous and funny. And then by the prolog, you're probably thinking this may be really sad instead. Well, it's a mix. I can't write a story with only drama and despair, I'd rather die! No, I need some humor. But on the hand, Kristine is kind of based off of me (I know, what an egoistic bitch I am, right?) so it's definitely gonna be partly miserable lol.
Anyways, comment and vote and don't go ghosting my story!
