An ebony woman stood before a massive beast, the size of a very mountain. It's long slender snake like body, coiling around the woman in a comforting circle. Yet even the warmth the creatures ivory and crimson trimmed body could not stop the woman from shedding tears. She peered up towards the great dragon, her amber irises boring into the dragon’s translucent ones. The dragon reared its head up high before staring towards the dark skinned human before him. He knew the deed he asked of her could indeed be too great for her. But it was necessary.  He knew it and deep down she knew it. But that didn't make things easier for the woman. “You can't expect me to be okay with this,Orion!” The woman screamed, her voice becoming quite shrill due to the strain she was putting on herself. The dragon now known as Orion released a heavy sigh,as he too was struggling not to reveal his true emotions. For he was a dragon,a dragon whom had chosen to teach the woman before him “Dragon Slayer Magic”. And it was because of that very reason that a sacrifice had to be made. And Orion was prepared for it.

Orion then leaned his head downwards for the woman, allowing her fingers to run through his silky snow hued maine. All the while careful to dodge the crimson and gold jagged edges of his head which served as a way of not only protection. But a way of releasing Orion’s true power as a dragon. Orion dared to look his student in the eye, watching as tears continued to cascade down her dark cheeks. What he had asked of her was hurting her more than he had ever imagined. And this wracked the all powerful beast with deep sorrow. In truth if he had it his way,the of them would have continued to live their lives in peace on this sacred montain. Where Orion and his pupil were known as its guardians. For the people who lived at the foot of the montain believed that Orion was infact their protector. And as such worshipped him along with his human pupil. But she had her own name. While Orion was indeed the protector of the montain the woman before him was known to all as the “Dragon Princess.” Why such a name for a woman? Simple,it was due to the fact that the woman had a pair of brown horns which infact looked quite similar to that of a Dragon.

The “Dragon Princess”struggled to cease her tears as Orion couldn't help but to nuzzle his head against her cheek. Hoping this small gesture would be enough to give her the courage to carry out his will. “I know this is hard for you,but it has to be done. You are a Dragon Slayer. And to be a true Dragon Slayer, you must first cut down a dragon. And I am that dragon.”Orion stated, his voice shaking the very mountains themselves. The “Dragon Princess” shook her head furiously as she dared to talk back to Orion. Revealing the sass she tended to display when she was passionate about something.

“Then I don't want this power! Not if it means killing you-!”The Dragon Princess choked out before stumbling to her knees. Her emotions sweeping over her like a tidal wave, and she was drowning in it. Balling up her fists The Dragon Princess choked on her words, her tears hindering her speech. “I-I need you Orion, your all I have.”She murmured, her voice filled with so much sadness and pain Orion almost gave in. But he couldnt, not when it came to her wellbeing. “My little one, power is the only thing that matters in this world. And for you to truly live a fruitful life a sacrifice must be made. And I am willing to make that sacrifice for you.”Orion stated his words of love and utter concern hitting “The Dragon Princess” like a ton of bricks. He was doing this for her. For her wellbeing.

Gathering all her courage “The Dragon Princess” rose to her feet. Revealing her amber eyes to Orion filled with both love and courage. She would try to overcome this, even if she didn't want to. “The Dragon Princess” knew it must be done, but that didn't mean she had to like it. “I don't want you to die.” She whispered into the air causing Orion to flash a sorrow filled smile. “I will always be there watching over you,now and forever. I will never leave your side.”Orion said, his fatherly tone kicking in once again when it came to speaking to the woman. After all he did indeed raise her as his own. The moment those words left the dragon’s lips, tears began to brim over the woman's gaze. She just couldn't bring herself to do it. Not after what he said. Not after all they had been through.
