(A/N: Hello and thank you all for reading this story. Updates may be a bit sporadic, but I will try to be as consistent as possible with my hectic lifestyle. I tweaked a few details in this story; age being the biggest thing. I simply don't feel comfortable writing anything remotely sexual with the characters being minors. With that being said, I hope you enjoy!)
(Y/N) stared blankly at her sensei as he went over what would be on their upcoming exam. Whatever he was explaining was going in one ear and out the other, however. She was completely bored out of her skull. She let out a sigh and stretched, trying to force herself to pay better attention. The last thing (Y/N) wanted was to fail this test. Kakashi-sensei wouldn't be very happy with her if she bombed another one.
She was able to concentrate on the task at hand for about 5 minutes before her mind started to wander again. Although this time she was brainstorming a new story idea. Her (E/C) eyes studied Kakashi for a moment.
'Hm... A sexy romance between a student and teacher... I haven't written one of those yet.' she thought, biting her bottom lip as she opened her binder and yanked a few sheets of paper out. She could begin her roughdraft now and then edit it when she got home. She smiled to herself as she began to convey her imaginings through words. She was getting into the more intimate details of the story when Kakashi began to wrap up his lecture. (Y/N) was so engrossed with what she was doing that she didn't even hear him dismiss the class moments later.
All the other students got to their feet and shuffled toward the door. Their sensei had been the first to leave. Soon (Y/N) was completely alone, still in her own world.
"How long are you going to just sit there?"
(Y/N) nearly jumped out of her skin. Pulled back into reality, she looked around the now empty room before turning to see Shikamaru Nara standing behind her.
"Class has been over for about five minutes now." he explained, noting the confused look the (H/C) haired girl was wearing. She cleared her throat, admittedly rather embarrassed.
"Oh, uh, right. I just needed to finish up my notes."
"Notes, huh?" The male looked over her shoulder and she scrambled to cover up what she had really been doing.
"Shikamaru! It's rude to read over someone's shoulder."
He shrugged. "So?"
(Y/N) turned away, deciding she would just wait until he left to move her arms away from where they shielded her work. Shikamaru pulled out the chair to her right and plopped down. She glanced over at him. He wore his usual bored expression as he leaned against his hand, but there seemed to be a hint of amusement in those dark eyes of his.
"What are you doing?" she questioned, "You can go. I'll leave after I pack my stuff."
"So, instead of paying attention in class do you always write stories about being thrown onto Kakashi-sensei's desk?"
(Y/N)'s (E/C) eyes widened and her face felt incredibly hot. She sloppily gathered up her story and shoved it into her bag. No one was supposed to ever see her works, and now, of all people, Shikamaru knew?!
"I-It's not like that! How did you-?!"
"I was able to read what you were writing before I even got your attention. Crazy, I always thought you were just some sweet and innocent girl."
"L-Look, I... I was just inspired by our sensei is all."
"If you say so."
"It's the truth!"
Shikamaru shrugged and stood back up, stretching. "I don't believe you." He headed for the door when (Y/N) scrambled after him.
"Dude, I just like to write romances, okay?! I don't actually want to have sex with our teacher. I just thought a student/teacher relationship would make for an interesting story."
"Mm hm."
She huffed in frustration. She didn't want Shikamaru to think she was a pervert who fictionally stalked people. It wasn't like she was actually writing about real life people in her stories. Being the writer that she was, she was simply inspired at random times and places. When ideas struck her she had to write, and romance stories were her go to genre. She knew it was going to take a lot more than an explanation to convince the shadow manipulator, but that would mean... No, she couldn't just let him read her others. She was already beyond uncomfortable knowing he had read what he did. But if she didn't how else was she going to clear up her name? Would that even help or would he just see her as more of a dirty minded person?
"What do I have to do to convince you?"
"Why are you even worried about convincing me? Does it really matter if I know you write dirty stories in class?"
"Yes! It does! Ugh, look, I get that I shouldn't have been writing something like that back there. It wasn't really the place for it, but I just had to jot it down while the idea was still fresh. It's true that I write a lot of stuff like that, but I don't write them about specific people. I become inspired by certain people or situations at times. I can't help it. So I really wasn't fantasizing about Kakashi-sensei!"
Shikamaru sighed. "I get it. Fine, I'll believe you. Just stop talking so much. You're being such a drag."
"How am I being a drag?? I'm seriously just trying to defend myself here."
"I know you don't have a thing for Kakashi-sensei. I was teasing you."
(Y/N) blinked and stopped walking.
"What?!"
The dark haired boy stopped walking as well and turned back towards her.
"You really think this is the first time I've noticed you writing in class?"
(A/N: Well, I'm going to end chapter one here. Idk if this was even that great. I haven't written in forever so I'm a bit rusty. Just bare with me lol. Hope it was a decent start. Till next time, guys. Take care!)
