~Viktoria's Outfit Above~

"I'm fine, I think I can survive going to school." I told Stiles as we both left the house. I made sure to wear a baggy sweater to cover my bandages, not wanting anyone to ask me questions.

"You were literally attacked by an animal in the middle of the woods. How on earth are you okay right now?" Stiles asked me, jumping into the drivers seat as I took my spot in the passenger seat. I just shrugged, not wanting to give him an answer.

He'd been almost babying me all morning, making sure I cleaned the bite and put a new bandage on. He even threatened to call Melissa himself to tell her about it but I was able to convince him otherwise.

Aggravated at my lack of an answer he sped down the road to the school where I knew Lydia would be waiting to judge my outfit. She sent me dozens of texts telling me what to wear for the first day so I wouldn't clash with her outfit or look, in her words, "like my brother".

We sat in silence the rest of the ride, though I knew Stiles had millions of questions he was holding back. I had some questions too, but I was too afraid to ask them. Too afraid to remember the fiery red eyes of the creature from last night.

We pulled into a parking space and quickly climbed out of the car, spotting Scott waiting for us at the edge of the parking lot. I walked up to him, quickly asking if he was okay.

"I'm fine, Vicky. Are you?" I carefully lifted up my sweater and showed him the bandage, watching as he did the same.

"Well, we always wanted matching friend tattoos. Now we'll have matching scars." I joked, but I could tell he didn't find it funny in the slightest.

"It was too dark to see anything, but I'm pretty sure it was a wolf." Scott told Stiles, the three of us walking up towards the school. "A wolf bit you?" Stiles asked him, not believing him for a second. There haven't been wolves in California for years, but now that Scott says that it makes sense. The howls and the teeth. It must have been a wolf.

"No, not a chance." Stiles added, laughing slightly. He obviously though Scott was either dumb or trying to be funny.

"We heard a wolf howling, Stiles." I told him, watching as his gaze turned to me.

"No you didn't!" he argued. I sighed and said, "I know there haven't been wolves in California for like 60 years but we know what we heard, Stiles. Unless a fox learned how to howl like a wolf then it was a wolf that bit us."

He looked ready to argue, but luckily Scott spoke first. "If you don't believe us now, you definitely won't believe us when I tell you I found the body."

Stiles completely forgot the argument and grew increasingly excited. "Are you kidding me?"

"No, man. I wish. I'm gonna have nightmares for a month." Scott admitted. I moved to stand next to Stiles, only to see Lydia coming. I said a quick goodbye to the two and moved to the top of the steps, waiting for her. We had been friends for years now, and it seemed like I was one of the only people that truly knew Lydia and how incredibly smart she was.

She completely ignored my brother and Scott and looked up at me, her eyes scanning my outfit. She seemed to contemplate it for a second before she smiled at me.

"Not at all what I suggested but still cute. Let's go, I need to meet Jackson before class." She told me, hooking her arm around mine and almost dragging me into the school. Great, now I need to pretend to be nice to Jackson Whitmore.

Unluckily for me, I didn't share the same first class with Stiles and Scott. I think our teachers discovered how chaotic it can be with Stiles and I in the same class so they avoided it as much as they could when making our schedules this year.

As I sat and pretended to listen to the teacher explaining our syllabus for the year, a phone ringing loudly shook me in my seat. I quickly looked around, expecting to see a student quickly pulling out their phone to shut of the ringer, but it seemed that no one else had heard the ringing.

"Mom, three calls on my first day is a little over-doing it... Everything except- a pen. Oh my god, I actually forgot a pen!" I heard a female voice say, like she was speaking directly beside me. I looked around the room again, only to spot the girl outside in the courtyard. She had her phone to her ear and was digging through her backpack. There's no way I'm hearing her right now.

"Okay, got to go. Love you." the girl spoke before hanging up and standing up, greeting the Principal. I heard them talking as they entered the building, but I quickly tuned them out and looked down at the syllabus in front of me in slight panic. Either my lack of sleep is getting to me or that animal in the woods was more than just a wolf.
