I turned around and saw a wolf, his paw on my shoulder. "It's gonna be alright. High School isn't completely bad" he said to me. On the outside, I smiled, but internally, I was sighing in relief. At first, I thought the rumors about bullies were true. But when I saw him, I knew I was going to be alright. He emitted this aura of amiability that made everyone around him feel safer and more comfortable. He moved his paw from my shoulder and moved it in front of him. "Hi. My name is Rigby Cordiner Wolf. It's a pleasure to meet you." At first, I didn't move, since I never really had someone go up to me and say hi. Usually, I go up to them. He hesitated a bit, and I snapped out of my confusion and shook his paw timidly. "H-hi there...I'm Alder Valenzuela M-Montenegro.." He laughed heartily, his voice echoing through the halls of the school. "Hahahaha! Not much of a talker, are ya? Well, I welcome you to Furry High!" His peppy and upbeat attitude almost made me forget my shyness. Almost. I looked around, and he seemed like the only person to actually say hello to me. That, in my opinion, was both good and bad. It was good in the fact that I didn't have to get myself acquainted with everyone in the school. It was bad because I wouldn't get myself acquainted with everyone in the school. I guess I must have shown my slight disappointment, because he said to me, " Hey. I may not be much of a welcoming committee, but I saw you at the front of our school, all afraid. I figured that you would need someone to teach you the ropes on how the whole 'High School' gig worked. Cmon. It'll be fun!" I didn't have time to object because he pulled me along into our first class, which was Science. I looked inside, and it was pretty much what I expected. Lab table in the back, and regular desks in the front. I chose a seat next to the window and Rigby chose the seat next to me. He seemed all fired up and ready to learn. I was, in my own way, but I kept it to myself since I wasn't yet ready to show that I was a bit of a nerd. Ok, fine, A LOT of a nerd. You can't blame me for trying to hide it. Even in Middle School, being a nerd wasn't good. You were socially outcasted, with only the other nerds to hang out with (although to be honest, the nerds were a lot cooler in my opinion than the athletes). But anyways, I was just taking a notebook out of my backpack, when a large, tan paw was put down on my desk. I closed my eyes and sighed, thinking to myself, "Here we go again. Just like in Middle School". I steeled my nerves, looked up, and sure enough, a big lion was staring right at me. Now, this may come as a surprise to you, but I actually have dealt with my fair share of bullies. Being a nerd, like I said before, made you the target of many people. This led to me having to deal with name calling, pushing, prodding, all that fun stuff. But I had a feeling this would be different. This was high school after all. The lion stared at me with a look a feral lion gets when they have found their prey. "You seem to be in my seat, squirt. How 'bout you move out of my way before I turn you into my lunch." For a second, I looked down, my eyes glowing orange. No. It was going to happen again. I don't want another incident like that of a few years back......
(Lol. I always like adding weird powers to my own characters. If you read my other story, Bowser - A Love Story, then you know what I'm talking about. It's just a preference of mine. I'll also add a chapter describing the power and how it came to be. Alrighty. Hope you like this!)
