part 2: chapter 1 -"The kutch"

"Babe we are gonna be late". I can here Liam shouting from the kitchen.

And here I stand looking at a stranger in the mirror; my reflection, I feel like it's not me.

The dark circles under my eyes, dull face, uncombed hair, What is happening to me ?.

"there you are", Ashley why are you not ready yet?"

"I don't feel like traveling Liam"

"oh, give it a break, you need to get out of this house, I know it is hard for you to move on after the whole Talwar incidence but..... it is how life works, believe me, we are gonna have an amazing time."

He placed his hand on mine and squeezed it gently.

I got up took a shower, tied my hair in a neat bun and stood in front of my wardrobe 'confused'. It is going to be a long journey, I thought.

I put on skinny jeans, white shirt, and brown boots.

"Ready to leave" Liam asked.

"Not sure"

We got settle in our car and started our journey to one of the most barren places on earth 'KUTCH'. I still don't understand why in the first place we decided to come here.

The golden quadrilateral road was the best way to reach Gujarat.

We decided that we will take turns driving, after four hours when I noticed that Liam was tired, we switched sides, he regretted but eventually, I won the argument.

We switched sides and decided that both of us could use some silence right now.

It was really peaceful looking at Liam, the only person left in my life to enjoy the moment with me.

It was getting dark now, the sky slowly turned into the shades of red. I noticed that there were some broken pieces of glass on the road, they made the crackling sound when car ran over them, then suddenly the things went wrong, I felt something really heavy at my chest and then I heard a gunshot.

My hands left the grip of the steering wheel and covered my ears Liam was quick to response and got hold of the wheel. I turned numb but still was able to apply the breaks. the car turned with a swift moment and made a semicircle tire marks on the road.

" what the hell........" before Liam could complete the sentence I stormed out of the car kneeled downed at the side of road and emptied all of my stomach contents. I heard footsteps and was about to jump when I realized it was Liam he patted my back and handed me water bottle.

"baby are you okay". Liam asked with concern in his voice.

I could feel my face burning, I soon realized it was torn streaming down.

"why are you still with me?" I asked with my eyes fixed on Liam.

"wh-what are you saying?"

"I just wanna know when everyone has left me. why are you still here."

"Because I fucking love you god dammed!!!!"

"I can't be loved, what is there in me to be loved, I am just a fucking cursed child whose parents even never loved her then why do you?!!!"

Liam stepped forward and cupped my face in his large hands, he looked straight into my eyes and whispered in my ears "I don't fell in love with your beauty, I fell in love with your scars, I know that you are not perfect no one is but love is not about perfection. It is about trust and affection, true love is when you accept someone in your life as they are even with their flaws."

His word was music to my ears, I loosened my body and let it fall on his, his strong arms were holding me in my place when I let it all out and sobbed like a baby.

The rest of the car ride was silent, we decide it was best if Liam drive. I asked him about the gunshot I heard, he said he heard nothing. I didn't go further as I didn't want to spoil the moment.

We decided to stay at Rann Riders in Dasada village on the outskirt of little rann.
