The One and Only

What to do?

Jacob was beat from training. He liked training with Ares but when Hermes joined in, every thing got ten times harder. When he was learning sword defending earlier he accidentally briefly impaled himself when he was grabbing his sword. The sword didn't go to far in; but he healed in seconds. He wanted to ask Ares if he knew what was going on, but he was too tired. He would ask tomorrow.

Jacob awoke in his bed to find a tray next to his bed that had cereal, muffins, cookies, orange juice, laid out on it.

"Happy birthday Jacob!" Athena said jumping into his room.

"Athena! You're back!"

"Yea! It's been a while but I got you a gift for your birthday. Come outside when you're finished." She said whilst walking out the room with a grin on her face.

Jacob had finished everything, got dressed in his combat uniform and headed outside.

Remember Jacob, you have to talk to Ares about that thing.

"Hey guys!" Jacob said as he reached the fenced in area.

"Hey birthday boy." Ares said walking over to him. "We have a surprise for you but you'll have to wait till after training. Oh and before we start, could you go grab us some swords?" Jacob was about to go grab them but then he remembered.

"Real quick before I do that, I need to tell you something."

"Go ahead."

"So yesterday when I went to grab the swords, I accidentally impaled myself. But it wasn't a deep cut. So here's the weird thing, shortly after it healed. *snap* Just like that." Jacob said trying to make sure he understood what he was saying.

"Athena, please come here."

"One second." Athena said as she was practicing against a mannequin. "Ok, I'm here. What is it?"

"Jacob accidentally got impaled, but healed shortly after. I don't really understand, care to fill me in?"

"Oh My Gosh!" She exclaimed with excitement. "Jacob, when a person is born having one of their parents being a god, they become a Demi-God."

"But both of you are gods." Jacob said not knowing where she was coming from.

"But if BOTH, of you parents are gods, that makes you a god yourself!" Athena said happily.

"I already knew that though."

"This is where it gets interesting. So that means that you have your own power/gift. And if you heal fast. That means you power is healing." Athena said not being able to hold the excitement in her voice.

"Jacob, God of Healing." Ares said waving his hands. "It's got a nice ring to it don't you think?"

"I...uh..wha......I don't understand. What? WHAT?! I've had no idea. So, does that mean that... Zeus is my grandfather?" Jacob said in much disbelief.

"No. And I know that this is hard to take in, but it will help you when you fight Zeus." Ares replied.

"And will help you with his minions as well." Athena added.

"I, don't know what to say.... I guess that only thing to ask is; What to do?"

"Practice." Athena and Ares said in unison.

"There is so much more than healing yourself. Every God has a gift, but they can harness it and unlock their full potential. So it's only logical that your full potential is either 1; Being able to heal others as well. 2; Being able to put a protective healing barrier around you, or 3; Both of 1, and 2." Ares said slowly trying to explain every part of it.

"So what he is saying it that you have much more to your power than what you have now." Athena said.

"..."

"Haha are you okay Jacob?" Athena asked laughing.

"No...."

"Jesus all mighty lighten up. You just found out that your a god. Oh and also, every god gets incredible strength and fighting techniques that will help them."

"Yea you're right. I AM A GOD!!" Jacob said ecstatic.
