4 YEARS AGO:
I wonder if the metal cried...
I watched how the sun bounced off the small knife while I twirled it on my finger.
Huh...
The blade spun once more on my fingertip before I grabbed it and brought it close to my face. Small lines criss-crossed on its surface and little chips peppered its sides.
"Maybe it is a vengeful spirit?" I breathed...
So quietly the greedy breeze could've stolen my words away."If you think about it..."
"They forced it to become a pool of molten agony, forged to submission, this - "I twisted the small knife, testing its weight.
"This was born out of destruction... it would've been in a lot of pain. So, now maybe it exists to cause pain and to destroy?"
"Like..."
"Like revenge." I mumbled.
Leaning my back against the old willow tree I let out a slow sigh - closing my eyes for 3 seconds, or maybe 3 minutes.
"But still... Did the metal cry?"
After a while of listening to the cricket that was hiding somewhere in the thick grass, and absentmindedly fiddling with my pocket knife, I frowned slightly before I opened my eyes.
I'm not a fan of long, sullen silences.
"Mum?"
I looked to the side and my expression fell.
"Of course... I always forget."
You're not really here...
