About six weeks later, while Jack and his current girlfriend, Jolene, were on vacation in Minnesota, Jack happened to see the news for someone who had received a promotion, and would be moving to the company's base. Upon closer inspection, Jack realized that the woman in the picture, next to this unknown man, was his daughter.
"So, that's what that little b**ch has been up to." Jack said, half to himself and half to Jolene. "Who is that?" said Jolene. "That is my daughter, the one I told you ran away." Jack said with a bitter tone. "Why are you so upset? She seems to have made a pretty decent life for herself." "That's the point, she wasn't supposed to make a life for herself. She was supposed to fail, not amount to anything." "Jack! That's an awful thing to say. How could you wish that on anyone?" "Very easily. I can't stand the sight of that girl, but I have an idea to get her back under my control." "Jack, be careful with what you do, you could get in a lot of trouble." "I don't care, and you shouldn't either, you never met her." "No, you're right I didn't, but if I had, I can bet you sure as hell that she wouldn't be in this situation." "Do you honestly want to get into this with me, right now?' "No, can we go back to the hotel?" "Yeah, sure. I can further my plan when we get there." Jolene just rolled her eyes and turned to walk back to the parking area.
As soon as Jack and Jolene were in their hotel room, Jack whipped out his laptop and started looking up different things about Ben. Jolene laid down on the bed, and was on the verge of falling asleep when jack yelled. "Jolene! Get up, we don't have time for sleeping." "Jack, I don't want to force your daughter into this." Jolene said with a worried tone "Well, you're either gonna help me with this, or you're going to have to take the pill again." "Oh, please Jack, don't do this to me." "You asked for it." Getting up and walking across the hotel room, Jack grabbed a couple of Rohypnol pills and a glass of water. "Jack, don't." Jolene tried to protest. Continuing to force the Rohypnol on her, Jack eventually had Jolene in a position where she couldn't move and forced the pills down her throat.
That evening, as Brexley was putting Kinsley to bed, Ben received a call from his office. "Hello?" Ben said, answering the phone, confused because his office never called after he left. "This is Perry, the secretary down at the office." "Oh, hi Perry.' "Hi. I know this call is odd, but it's for you and your wife's safety." "What's wrong Perry?" "Well, this guy called down here earlier, said his name was Jack Stoval, wanting to talk to you about your family." "Why on earth would he call the office asking about Brex and Kins?" "I asked him why he needed to know about them, and he said that it was confidential." "Perry, you do know who Jack Stoval is, right?" "That's Brexley's dad, isn't it? "Don't let him know our whereabouts or any personal information, if he asks." "Yes, sir." "Thanks Perry. Goodnight." Goodnight Ben."
As Ben set the phone down, Brexley walked into the room. "Who was that?" Brexley inquired as she sat down next to Ben. "That was Perry, from down at the office. He said that your dad called earlier asking to talk to me, about you and Kins.' Ben answered wrapping his arm around Brexley and pulling her into his side. "Really?" Brexley asked, trying to sit up, because Ben was holding her close to his side. "Yeah, but I wouldn't worry about it, Perry has it under control." "I'm sure he does, but I still want to know why my dad is trying to contact you," Brexley said, breaking free of Ben's arms and running into the kitchen. "Brexley." Ben said, following her. Upon entering the kitchen, Ben discovered brexley pacing the floor and wringing her hands. "It's all my fault. He's going to find us, then he's going to ruin your job, and then we are going to have to leave everything we've built for ourselves. I'm sorry." Brexley finished, collapsing into Ben's arms. "Hey, it's alright. Nothing is going to happen to us. You know I wouldn't let that happen." "I..I..I'm sorry. I shouldn't have run away. I should have stayed and let him beat me, I shouldn't have left."Brexley continued until her voice was no longer audible. "Brex? Brexley? Brexley, listen to me. Nothing, and I mean nothing is going to happen to us. I love you too much to let anything like that happen to us." "Are you sure?" "Positive." "Promise?" "I promise." With that, all conversation ceased between the two as they watched the evening news. About an hour later Ben discovered that Brexley had fallen asleep. He decided to bring her up to their room and go to bed. As soon as he picked her up, Brexley started to scream and thrash about shouting, "Let go of me, don't touch me. You're an awful person , and I wish I never met you." "Brexley?" Ben said trying to shake her awake. "Don't try and get me to soften up to you. You were never a true father." "Brexley! Wake up." After trying to wake her for about a minute, Ben finally broke Brexley out of her dream. "Ben! Oh, Ben, it was awful. He was there, and you were gone, and he was trying to take me, and and it was just awful." ''Brexley, calm down. Do you want to talk about it?" Brexley simply shook her head. "Let's go to bed." Brexley said taking Ben's hand.
The next morning, after Ben had left for the office, Brexley got Kinsley up and dressed and headed over to Quinn's house, after all these years they had still remained friends. Pulling into the driveway, Brexley realized just how serious her situation could be if her dad found out her exact location. Knocking on the grand oak door, Brexley began to question if telling Quinn was the right thing to do. Almost immediately after knocking, the door was swung open and Brexley was greeted by a woman in a black dress, hair falling out of her bun, feather duster in hand. "Hi, is Quinn home?" brexley asked the women. "Yes, I will go get her, Won't you come in?" the woman said as she scurried up the marble staircase. Not thirty seconds later came a load crashing sound. What on earth was that "Brexley, I'll be down in a second." Came a voice, a voice that Brexley knew all too well.
After a little bit of hushed shouting, Quinn made an entrance into the room by standing at the top of the stairs and shouting, "Here I am." "Hey Quinn." Brexley said walking up to give her a hug. "How have you been? I haven't heard from you in awhile." Said Quinn making her way down the staircase. "Oh, I've been well, but I have something to tell you about." "Come into the living room, would you like some tea?" "Um sure, what happened upstairs?" "Oh, Maybelle tripped, she's the woman who answered the door." "Oh, okay." "What did you want to talk about?" "Well, last night Ben received a call from the office, after I had put Kins to bed. It was Perry, their secretary, he said that my dad had called trying to get ahold of Ben, Perry wouldn't transfer the call, knowing that it was serious, and when he asked why he needed to talk to Ben my dad said it was confidential." "Oh Brexley, if you ever need somewhere to go,if your dad somehow finds out your location, don't hesitate to come here." Wiping the tears from her eyes,Brexley simply nodded.
