I decided to go back out tonight after talking with Taro. I've been curious, and Ikebukuro might be more interesting at night. It sure is beautiful, with all the lights and everything, anyways.
I let a grin creep across my face as I twirled in the middle of the sidewalk, my short black skirt rippling as I did so. I sighed, closing my eyes as I hugged myself through my fuzzy, soft pink sweater. It was relaxing. Something about the atmosphere... changed my view about earlier. It was kinda exciting, meeting someone like that. Tomorrow I was going to make up for it if I saw him again. I had a small plan.
I blinked as I heard yelling. I started running, black runners slapping along the sidewalk under me as I pulled up my knee-high black socks. I ran around the corner to find one of my aquaintances; Izaya Orihara. He was fighting someone. Blonde hair... glasses.... a suit.... oh shit!!
I put up my hands as I stood a few feet away from the crowd of people. It was that guy from earlier that I ran into!
"Oh come on, Shizu-chan. Is that all you've got?" I heard Izaya taunt playfully as he jumped backwards, out of the way of a street sign slamming into the ground. He casually had his hands in his pockets.
I blinked, slowly stepping backwards with my left foot, before immediately turning around and booking it like I was about to lose my ass. After about a half hour, I slowed down, stopping and putting my hands on my knees. I leaned over, exhausted. "O-oh God," I panted, "I wish I skipped Gym today." I joked.
People bustled about on the street ahead so I stared walking towards them. Once I got there, I blinked. I was back at Russia Sushi. I smiled. I figured I would get lunch here for school. I nodded, accepting the idea with open arms in my head. I smiled and continued walking. I looked up at the dark sky, staring at the deep blue clouds and the glittering white stars. I remembered something and looked back to the first one I saw. I stopped walking, clenched my fists, and held them close to my chest. I squeezed my eyes tightly shut. I thought of a wish.Starlight, star bright, first star I see tonight. Wish I may, wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight!
... please, PLEASE, let me make some friends here! I don't want to be alone while I deal with everything! And please, I'm absolutely begging you, please, please, PLEASE keep my parents away from me.
I sighed and opened my eyes, staring up at it with hope. It glinted slightly, as if agreeing it would do something. I smiled to myself and exhaled the breath I realized I was holding. I looked ahead of me and continued walking, weaving my way like a snake through a basket in the crowd of people. I looked around and saw a familiar lab coat. I blinked. "Mr. Shinra!" I yelled, hands to my mouth to make myself louder.
The glasses-wearing man turned around and blinked at me. He smiled as I ran over to him. "Ah! Haralinoma!"
I smiled. "How are you?"
He grinned. "I'm doing well. What are you doing out?" He raised an eyebrow. "Not getting into trouble, are you...?"
I laughed. "O-oh no, of course not! I'm just... looking around." My eyes caught a red vending machine by a wall and I paled incredibly.
Shinra blinked abd looked behind him at the vending machine a few feet away. He sighed and closed his eyes. "So... you met him, huh?"
I blinked and before I could answer, he looked at his watch. "Ah, I'm sorry, but I've gotta go. I'll see you around sometime, Ayaka. Don't get hurt!" He walked past me, waving.
I sighed and waved back. "Yeah, sure. You got it." I mumbled.
I turned and continued walking. I looked around and spotted a flier with a picture of a golden-brown haired woman with dark eyes. Her name was Lizensa Harenolin, a pop singer who was married to her partner, agent, literally bodyguard, and other singer, Yoluner Harenolin, a black haired male with pale blue eyes and oval glasses.
I scowled. "What a disgusting woman," I muttered. After walking for a while and enjoying the sights, I heard a whinny as if from a horse. I turned around and looked at the road to see a person in a black motorcycle suit with a yellow cat helmet riding on a black motorcycle. Everything seemed to slow and my eyes widened. They slowly turned their head to the left, and looked directly at me. I blinked and watched them as they looked back ahead of them, and sped off as time seemed to return to normal. I stared down the street. People were mumbling all around me. I looked to my right and down the sidewalk. I saw the boy from my class that sits behind me, the one with dark hair. Mikado Ryuugamine. He appeared to have seen it too. His eyes were wide just like mine. He noticed me and blinked. He smiled and gave a small nervous wave, not knowing me too well. I smiled and gave a small wave back. Maybe living in Ikebukuro really wouldn't be so bad after all. I felt special now, that something really good was going to happen. I also felt a warm feeling in my chest and then remembered that blonde-haired guy from earlier whom I'd pissed off. I smiled, feeling.... happy.
I couldn't exactly figure out why, but I felt that way smiled to myself. Maybe after meeting up with Taro tomorrow I could get to know Mikado and make him my friend as well, along with that girl, Anri Sonohara, and that caramel-haired boy Mikado was always with.
I sighed as a warm smile stuck to my face and I looked up at the sky, at the star from earlier."... thank you," I whispered.
