Me and Luke lay next to each other on my bed, just sitting quietly on our phones.

I stand up and walk to the restroom, I wash my face and teeth, then quickly brush out my hair, throwing it into a messy bun. After, I walk back to my room, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Hey, Maddi wants to know if we could go out for breakfast, she says she has a boy that you might really hit it off with and she has a birthday present for you." He smiles.

"Sure, when?" I ask. I don't really care about the boy she's bringing, It's not going to turn into anything.

"Like in twenty minutes."

"Yeah let me get dressed," I nod my head. I throw in some jeans and a read sweater, pulling my hair out of the bun. I chose not to wear makeup, as I'm not trying to impress anyone. I'm going to breakfast with Luke and his girlfriend, and some other random guy. Luke does the same, and we leave shorty after.

Both my parents are at work, so I text them in a group chat our plans.

Once at IHOP we see Maddi, I run up to her, giving her a big hug. She hands me this cute little box, insisting that I open it.

Inside is a cute bracelet with a charm on it saying 'young, free, 16' I thank her for it amazed at how cute it is, placing it on my wrist.

"So this is mark," Maddi smiles, gesturing to the boy next to her.

"Hi." I smile up at him, he sticks out his hand to shake, for a second I almost do that slish-slash-hand-bump boys do, but instead shook it, the right choice.

"Hi." He smiles back. He had big white teeth, and brown hair, with dark brown eyes. His skin is tan, I think he is Hispanic of some sort. He is cute, but he's not Luke.

We sat down at the little booth. I sat next to mark, and Luke and Maddi sat together.

I love Maddi, she's a really good friend of mine. And I love her and Luke together, I just love me and Luke together more.

I sit and talk to mark, he tells me a bit about his family, and we share a few stories back and forth. He invites me to go for a dinner and a movie tomorrow night, which I say yes to.

The way I see it, I have nothing to lose. Mark was really sweet and funny, but soon it was time to go.

Luke dropped me off at my house, where I spent the rest of my day eating left over food from last night, and watching Netflix.

I have a paper due Monday at midnight, so I'll probably do it Monday at 11.
