Hurt

Chapter 1- Rain

Ashton POV

I looked in the only mirror that I owned. It was broken due to a fist fight that occurred at a party a year ago but it still did the job. The guy staring back at me wasn't the guy I once thought i'd be. I'd dreamed of maybe being a successful business owner or some crazy shit like that but looking at my skinny jeans, Black Veil Brides T-shirt and long black hair I realized that dreams don't come true well not for me anyway. I turned on the tap and splashed some cold water on my face. That'll do I thought to myself before heading to my cupboard to grab a bottle of wine. I was going to get wasted and I didn't care, i'd stopped caring a long time ago. Just as I was about to open the bottle my phone started ringing. It was my bud Kai so I picked it up.

"Hey Kai what's up?"

"Oh just clubbing. Did you just wake up or something? You sound like shit""

"I feel the love buddy and yes as a matter of fucking fact I did just wake up"

There was an audible chuckle on the other end of the line.

"Dude it's 9:00pm what have you been doing all day? Anyway do you mind picking me up at around 12:00am?"

"Sure"

"Thanks see ya"

"Peace"

I hung up the phone. Getting wasted would have to wait I guess. I put the bottle on the counter and went over to the fridge to grab something to eat. My options were moldy cheese, 2 week old pasta and wilted lettuce. Okay then let me check my cupboards. I had a bag of chips and a monster drink. Perfect. I slowly walked over to my couch and turned on the TV.

It was about 11:58pm and I decided to start heading out to pick up Kai and afterwards we'd pick up some real food. I grabbed my keys off the shelf at the front entrance and walked out of my apartment making sure to lock the door behind me. I walked down to the parking lot to find my old but still functional black car. It was a 2009 but did the job. I hoped in and started the ignition.

I pulled up to the club and texted Kai

12:15: I'm here 

No response. He was most likely drunk out of his mind. I got out of the car and headed into the club to find him. It took me no time at all to figure out that he was in the middle of a huge group of ladies. I parted the small crowd.

"Sorry, excuse me... Kai man let's get outta here."

Kai looked at me amused 

"But Ashhhh we just started"

I rolled my eyes. 

"You wanted to crash at my place so let's go"

I grabbed his arm and half dragged him out of the club. Everyone kind of just stared at me as if I was being a party pooper but at this point I didn't really care. Walmart was just across the street so I looked over at my wasted friend.

"Dude do you think you can make it to Walmart or did you want to wait in the car?"

Kai zoned out for a few seconds before looking at me blankly.

"Walmart? Sureeee i'm down"

Well then this is gonna be great. I stopped supporting Kai and let him walk or stumble should I say on his own.

As we walked down the food isle I picked up some chips, pizza, chicken wings, monster drinks and booze. 

"Yo Kai is that all we wanted?"

My drunken friend simply took an apple and threw it in the cart.

"I wannaa keep the doctor away for fucking good he's like a perv or somethingg"

I laughed before heading to check out. As we exited Walmart it started to rain and by rain I mean a mega downpour. I threw on my hood and dumped our purchases in the trunk. I looked around before saying to him.

"You know dude i've always liked the rain..."

He frowned before saying

"Yea I don't...."

He got inhis side and I got in the drivers side and proceeded to start the ignition and turn on the radio. "Well folks looks like there's going to be quite the downpour tonight..."
