Chapter 3- People change

Ashton POV

I put on my best shirt and pair of skinny jeans and sprayed on some cologne. I was just combing through my hair when Kai walked in rubbing his head.

"Man do you have aspirin? Please tell me you do..."

I went over to the cabinet next to the sink and pulled out some advil before tossing it at him.

"There you go." 

He caught it. Before asking

"Hey are you going somewhere or something?"

I sighed

"Yea i'm going on a date"

He frowned 

"With who?"

I put down the comb satisfied with the results.

"Emily"

His eyed widened slightly and he shook his head.

"Not that bitch who made you all depressed I hope.."

"Yea that's the one"

"Ash are you out of your fucking mind?! She'll just play you again."

"Maybe but she deserves a chance."

Kai shook his head one more time and turned to leave the room while calling out

"Ashton Segmoore you are too soft!"

I rolled my eyes. I disliked being called by my full name but whatever I had a date to go to. I glanced at my watch. 5:45pm I should start heading.

I parked my car noting that I had 5 minutes to get there on time. I gave a quick glance in the mirror. Satisfied, I got out of the car and headed into the restaurant.  Suddenly I felt under dressed and got instantly self conscious. Oh god I should just cancel. But it was too late, Emily had already spotted me. I walked over to her table.

"Oh Ash I guess I should have told you to dress up..."

I felt my cheeks turning red.

"Oh...sorry. Did you want to do this another night then?"

She laughed and then rolled her eyes.

"Oh don't be stupid. Nobody cares. So what are you going to have?"

I looked her over. Tight black dress, black heels, red lipstick, hair down, holyyy she was gorgeous. I looked up and saw her staring expectantly.

"Sorry what was that?"

I asked while taking a seat.

"I said what are you going to have?"

I laughed.

"Oh right i'll probably have red wine and steak. What about you?"

She looked over her menu one last time before closing and placing it on the table.

"I'll probably have the Greek salad with a side of fries and a pepsi."

I smiled at her playfully.

"Going from one extreme to the other eh?"

She flipped her hair before smirking.

"I have no idea what you mean Ashton Segmoore."

"Sureee you do"

She smiled and just as I was going to explain exactly what I meant the waiter walked up to our table.

"May I take your order?"

After eating, we decided to go for a walk in the garden behind the restaurant. We were holding hands and simply enjoying each others company.

"That was awesome Em. Thanks again but next time it's on me."

She smiled and looked into my eyes.

"Ash that was the best night i've ever had. I think I should be thanking you... after all I put you through I really don't deserve to have you back..."

I reached over and grabbed both of her hands and looked into her beautiful brown eyes.

"Sometimes grace is underestimated. I surprised myself by letting you back into my life but I wouldn't change it for the world baby."

She smiled

"God knows why I left you"

I cupped her face in my hands and kissed her, at she pulled back in surprise but then smiled playfully and kissed me back.

I was a little tipsy but not too bad when I arrived home with Emily. We decided we could watch some movies together or something. The second we walked in the door Kai greeted us.

"How was dinner?"

Emily blushed and so did I before responding

"It was great, right Em?"

Emily looked into my eyes before winking at Kai.

"Fantastic"

Kai tried to hide his irritation with all the lovy dovy stuff.

"Cool. Any plans for tonight then?"

I headed to the shelf were I kept all my electronics and grabbed my laptop.

"Yea we're gonna watch some netflix."

Kai paused thoughtfully before suggesting that we should cut out the chilling part since he'd be trying to sleep.

"Emily laughed. We'll put up sound proof barriers. Come on Ash."

She tugged on my arm leading me towards my room.

"Later dude!"

I called out before Em shut the door and whispered in my ear

"Now then baby I wore something special just for you but you're gonna have to work for it."

I put the laptop on my side table and held her around her waist

"Is that so?"

She flipped her hair

"Mhmm"

I pushed her unto the bed and started kissing her collarbone working my way up to her lips. Before I kissed her beautiful lips I shot her a sly smile and half whispered.

"A night you won't remember and a moment you'll never forget"
