The man went to me, and whispered something in my ear. Somehow I remembered his low, raspy voice.
" Just look alive kid, if I see you around" I could still hear the warning tone tint to it. "Or our fates intertwine again, prepare a tombstone" I just nodded and watched them leave.
I'm was surprised in myself back then, how I remembered that threat like it was still fresh out from the guy cigarette mouth. I'm not a forgetful person, I just don't pay attention or listen to things that doesn't seem important or spite interest in the subject. So, sorry Chandler with all those secrets that you told me. They never reached my mind or caught my attention.Don't get me wrong, though I seemed as a awful friend to Chandler. It was nice having him at my side at times. Even though, I kept pushing it out my mind and decline it often that he was nuisance and I dislike having him in my life. I was just simply, lying to myself.
-----------
It was a chilly day that morning. Cold breeze dancing through the naked trees branches. Making them wave at you as you passed by them by each stop light. After the fifth stop light I turned a left heading into a small cafe that smelled coffee beans all over. The scent thick. I ordered for both of us, and meaning both of us.
Chandler.
Since the incident of not calling him to get groceries with me last time. I thought it wouldn't make difference. Now big difference is that I am acquaintance with Lucifer. And what I began to think now as I waited for the coffee and Chandler to come, if I did called Chandler that day.
Would it make a change of event of Lucifer and I?
And answer to my own question is yes. If I did, Lucifer Thomas wouldn't been currently alive in this world. Since I intervene.
Why am I even thinking about this? You can't change the past. As a faded memory of my orphanage years came into mind. I'm having an off day since I'm remembering those days.
I took my mind of those dreaded memories as I looked at the gray skies through the cafe large windows and started to wonder how long it's gonna take Chandler to get here. I kept looking at the sky until the gray clouds turn into a darker color.
"Looks like it's gonna rain" Said the waitress behind me as she sat down the coffee in front of me, and Chandler coffee crossed.
Took one last look of the sky as a tiny droplet fell from the sky and hit directly at the window where I was looking through.
As the waitress walked away with her tip and the check. I said to no one practically, but said it as a random thought that came out.
"I hoped Chandler brought a umbrella with him, don't want him to catch a cold"
----------
"Man, lucky I brought my umbrella with me right? As I walked out of the cafe and onto the cafe porch with my red haired, friend as he began to opened up his blue umbrella for me."Seems like it was a good day that you actually listened to your sister" I smiled as I got under the umbrella with him as we began to walk down the street.
"Yeah, go-figure." As he went silent for while as he turned to me as I was still smiling since his mind didn't process that I was making fun of him.
"Heyyy!" As he caught onto my words. "I do have a brain you know to listen to Salina"
"Seems only at a blue moon" I laughed after my sentence. But as I did. It didn't feel, forced.
"That's it!" He laughed at he took his umbrella away from me and letting me being exposed by the chilling rain. After a solid minute, he let me back under the umbrella and punched my arm playfully. "You know what Quill?"
"What"
"Ooo there's the Quill I know and love"
"What you mean Chandler? Come out with it."
At this moment, Chandler just gave me a weird look as we stopped under a building that was covering us as he lower his umbrella down.
"I meannn, Quill. I never heard you laugh or play around before. "
I was confused about his statement."I always laugh" Around other beings that it looks like I'm being part of the conservation." I don't think you never really hear a person laugh for the first time besides a new born"
Know it was him being confused. "I'm sorry. I didn't follow about the whole baby thing. But what I meant is that, that I noticed is that when you laughed. It sounds, well... forced. So I was surprising me hearing you laugh laugh. Like you were actually having fun. Fun with me. And we both know that doesn't happened"
He was right. I never had fun with him in general or with his friends. And once again surprised that he caught I was forcing the laugh that now sounded natural. But the laughing and me playing around. It just came natural and it felt good. It felt good laughing that something that wasn't felt fake. It's odd for me since it was Chandler being a idiot.
"Hmm. It is odd. " I agreed with him as we both are watching the rain. "I properly laughed because of how silly an idiot you are" As I looked at Chandler.
Realization hit me. Oh shit, I said that out loud. Oh well. It properly didn't mean anything to him. Oh look, the rain stopped.
"Time to see that movie now." As I backed away from the wall. "Come on Chandler"
"Y-yeahh.. let's go!"
I turned to Chandler and see he was still standing there on the wall. His face seemed like it was turning pink. The rain properly got to him.
"Hey Chandler, let's... go?" I walked towards him and saw closer that he was starring at the wall I was leaning on.
"You see that, right?" He asked me as his eyes were still glued to the wall
"Yeah, I do." The man's raspy voice came to mind again. " Chandler, let's go. That's there territory we were leaning on.. That Mark.."
"No doubt about it. " As he examine the new freshen spray paint mark. It looked like it was put there 2 days ago at least. "Huh, I didn't know there territory grew" I commented.
Chandler just stepped farther away from the mark.
"Let's run before we're seen, damnmit. I Should've saw that before we rested up" Chandler looked at the wall again and looked at our surrounding.
Chandler noticed the movement before I did as he got into his fighting stance. He alerted me by whistling at the direction it was coming from. I looked for a safe route to run away safely until I saw more movement around us. I heard Chandler cursed after the same raspy voice spoked up.
It was the old man who I fought. Same voice. We looked at the direction as saw him walking towards us with a wide smile.
"Let's our fates Intertwine, didn't I say that was gonna happen?" As the old Man smoking a cigarette, the leader of this Mark smirked at both of us.
"So, did you prepare a tombstone for yourself?" As he dropped his burning cigarette and crushed it under his steel toes shoe.
Lucifer Mafia rival. The
" Deansire Maifa.." I muttered. Have to say goodbye to that movie we're not gonna see.
Edited realized I put the wrong the wrong rival Mafia gang name. It supposed to be Deansire. Not Vaneria
Edit of that edit. I know you guys were confused so I arranged it so you guys can at least knows what happening. I wrote this late and new chapter will be updated. My grammar and writing will be improved.
