Astrid
And with that he and his dragon were gone.
Gobber had snuck on a fake fin that locked into place so they could leave.

Stoick had this done while the mystery boy read the letter.
I wish him luck.
Yet...
I wish he hadn't left.

A several years have passed since then.
I have found no one and am still waiting.

The dragons are going away now.
I worry they won't ever come back.
Stoick has become very open to dragons...  But closed off at the same time.

Night Furies are especially welcome,  but none ever came.

I rest my head on my hands and stare at the clouds.
I wish I could fly.
I always wanted to.

I feel a tingling on my spine.
I look and see a pair of Nadder wings extending out my back.
My tail is growing too.

I feel the wings finish growing.
I see a black streak now and then,  crossing the sky...
But I shake it off.

It couldn't be.
The dragons are gone.
I see it again and flap my wings.

I take to the sky.
I see a dark smudge racing away.
I follow it until we stop on a cliff.
They see me in the daylight and the man turns to me.

He leans on a tree.
His left leg is crossed behind his back.
He seems to savour it.
He has a large hold and larger than life wings.

They have to be four hundred feet each.
I fold my wings with embarrassment.
They're barely big enough to carry me now.

The mn smiles at my embarrassed face.
I see his lip form a smile.

He comments,  "I was wondering when you would join me. "
I blink and reply,  "What? "
He whispers,  sad and confused, "I was waiting for you. I would fly over head every day to try and find you.  I can't...  I can't walk to find you...  And Berk was getting along so well without me disturbing your dragonic peace...  I didn't want to fly low enough to get caught in another trap.'

I ask,  "Who are you? "
This seems to be of no surprise.
He replies,  "I'm Ash. You won't know my name... Of course..  But maybe I can jog your memory? "

His Hood falls.
The boy who I had fallen for all those years ago is here now.
His face is fully scaled and his bright purple eyes gleam happily.

He hugs me and I ask why he hasn't returned to Berk.
He laughs,  "I cannot help much there.  I'm s bit worn from Dragos' dragon traps.  See? "

His foot I though was behind him,  in fact,  is gone.

Ash laughs heartily at my shock.
Ash comments,  "We took em down,  eh bro? "

A  man like Ash appears hanging from his tail.
The tree creaks under his weight.
The man has a mischievous look in his eyes as he growls,  "Yah!  We took down that phsyco! Well,  you did and I slept. "

I laugh.
Then I remember his missing limb.
I ask how he gets around.

He flaps his wings and looks at his remaining leg.
He sighs,  "I really do wish I could get a new foot,  but it's beyond my control. "
I remember Gobber and chirp,  "We can get you one. Come on. "

The two men follow me into the air.

We lnd at Berk and I demand they tell me everything.
Ash begins to talk.
He tells me about everything like it was a very uneventful thing that doesn't bear mention.
