I hover slightly above the robot as it searches for me on the ground. I feel so weightless in the air. I fly up a little higher and then shoot straight down towards the robot. It gives out a metallic screech. As I get closer, I notice it's sharp hand awaiting my arrival.

"Shit."

The robot, instead, grabs at me and stabs me in the side.

I let out a screech of my own as the blood falls to the cave floor. I grab the robot my the head and tug. The head comes off easily and the robot's circuits are made visible. I toss the head down as the rest of the body malfunctions. The rest of the robot falls to the ground with a thud. I float down slowly and look around.

The cave is full of maimed robots, some are still alive but are malfunctioning. I feel almost bad for the robots but it's hard to feel all that bad since more then one of them has stabbed me today. I sit down and lean against one of the larger robots. I hold my newest stab wound but I inspect my body. Two cuts on my right leg and a stab wound on my left thigh. The right side of my torso is untouched but the left is bleeding profusely. A cut across my right cheek and a small slash across my chest ends the inspection of all of the damage. I let out a sigh.

"Miss. Hinter, are you alright?" Alfred comes rushing up to me.

"I'm fine Alfred, the healing factor should kick in soon." I let out a hiss as Alfred moves my hand from the wound in my side.

"How long does it usually take?"

"About a day to be completely healed." I allow Alfred to inspect the wound in my side.

"Well, I'll still clean them and dress them, these robots were particularly nasty."

I let out a laugh.

"I'm sure Bruce has more tucked away somewhere that are even worse." I watch as Alfred takes a sizable chunk of metal out of my right side. I cough and then let out a laugh again.

"Miss. Hinter, this is not a comedy, you need to be careful, you are not invincible."

"Nor would I want to be Alfred." I look at him seriously. He looks back up to me. There is an understanding in his eyes. A certain sadness adds to the understanding.

"I will let Master Bruce know of your achievements. I am sure he will agree that you need a short break."

"I have nowhere to go, Alfred, let me train until Bruce returns."

He shakes his head.

"I will not allow you to work yourself to death. You have trained for many months, you've done enough."

I roll my eyes and watch as he wraps a bandage over my side. He stands up and holds his hand out to help me off of the ground. I begrudgingly take it. We walk slowly back to the steps up to the computers of the batcave. I think about the past couple of months. This year has definetely been one for the books. The

"So, I've never been to Austria."

Alfred looks to me after I speak.

"Master Bruce has always had interest in traveling there but has never set aside time to do so, I have some connections out there."

"And I have money to pay for it, so please, let me do so." I smile. He looks away and shakes his head.

"So you do, but I believe your birthday is coming up."

"Alfred."

"And this will be my birthday present to you!"

"Alfred!" I shake my head. "You are impossible."

"Do you not accept my gift?" He smiles and opens the door to the main house. I give a small chuckle.

"I do, thank you Alfred."

"You're very welcome."

I massage the back of my hand and swiftly make my way to my bedroom. I open the door to find a suitcase on the bed. I roll my eyes, of course Alfred knew I would finally agree.

I walk to the closet and begin to shuffle through the clothes. Bruce bought me some, mostly expensive clothing that I would never wear unless it was a very special occasion. I pack a few of these items and then move to the clothing that I bought for myself. It's all cheap items, mostly from department store sales. I pack lightly. I know that I probably won't be in Austria more than a week.

"Miss Hinter?" I hear Alfred from the door.

"Come in." I smile to myself.

The door opens and in strolls in Alfred but he has a phone in his hand.

"A call for you."

I look at him confused.

"From the landline?"

"It's from a woman, she's in France, apparently Bruce spoke to her about you."

I take the phone and put it up to my face.

"Hello, Zoe Hinter speaking."

"Miss. Hinter, Bruce Wayne told me about you, my name is Diana Prince and I have a proposition for you."

"A proposition? Miss. Prince, why would Bruce share private information to you about me?"

"Bruce told me that you were unable to speak to me when I was at his house. I believe that you were training in a different Wayne location. You also have not kept up with the recent news."

"The recent news? You mean about Superman? His big return?"

"So you know a little bit."

"When were you in the house? I only left for a couple of days last month."

I had been training in Central City, a hotbed of crime was there, and only one hero ever saved them as far as I heard. The Streak? The Flasher? I could never keep names straight.

"Yes, and in that time, much happened. But are you interested in hearing about my proposition or not?"

I look to Alfred for a split second, a slightly smug smile is on his face.

"Yes, I'm interested in hearing it."

"Have you ever heard of the Amazons?"

"Like Greek mythology?"

"Yes, but what if I told you that they weren't a myth?"

"Excuse me?"

"What if I could give you better training, Amazonian training?"

"Well, they were some of the best fighters, but they no longer exist."

"They do, you're talking to one."

I hold the phone away from my ear and press it against my shoulder.

"Is this lady for real?" I ask Alfred.

"Deathly. I've met her myself."

"Jesus, the world really has gone crazy." I mumble to myself and hold the phone back up.

"Alright, let's say I believe you, why would I want to be trained by the Amazons, and how would I?"

"I know where they live and I know they would take a human woman like you, they need fighters on their island like you. You would serve in the Queen's personal guard, until your training was fulfilled."

"When would I begin?"

"As soon as you want, I live in France, I can help you get to the island."

I look out the window. Fall has caused the trees to change color and become naked against the cold.

Amazonians, aliens and superhumans. How could I resist an offer to train with some of the best fighters in history.

"I'm in."
