BarkStar's Sorrow || NOT BEING CONTINUED

Chapter 3

I shriek and duck under his paws. Please don't die, please don't die.. That's all I could think. Even if it was a training spar, it felt like a full on battle. PineSeeker smiled with amusement.
"You'll have to do better then that to become a moor runner, BarkPaw"

I dart around StormPaw in circles, making him dizzy and confused before jumping on him and pinning him down. I shake my head. How did I just do that?.. PineSeeker dipped her head.
"That will do, boys. You can go back to camp whilst MousePaw and FlamePaw have their spar."
I nod and slowly walk back to camp, my head lowered as StormPaw blabs on about his first battle and how he was going to the gathering tonight. He asked me a few questions that I shyly answered. How does MousePaw not get bored by his constant blabbing?  We walk into camp and SwiftStar pads over to me calmly.

"BarkPaw, would you like to come to the gathering tonight? It might give you a chance to catch up with your sister" SwiftStar added the last part in a quieter voice. I nod and he smiles. "Ok, be ready to leave by dusk."

Later, on the way to the gathering

All the other cats were chatting excitedly about the gathering. Not me. I sat next to MousePaw and StormPaw with my head down, trying not to be noticed by the other apprentices. They'd surely beat me up if they found out I was going instead of them. And FlamePaw would make sure of that. She was the one who hurt me the most. But I still cared for her deeply. We started walking out the camp a trench and I rushed into the middle of the group so I wouldn't be noticed. Apparently, my oddly patterned back leg was to well known and the other apprentices spotted me.
"Oy! What's BarkPaw doing going to the gathering!" ShrewPaw spat. "I thought our mentors promised we could go!"
JaggedTail stalked across the camp to the apprentices. "SwiftStar said that I was no longer going and neither were you three because strong cats need to be left at camp to protect the newborn kits in the nursery." He spat in his icy tone. A series of shivers went down my spine. Great.. now I'm gonna have to make up a new excuse to MorningFlower about why I have scratches all over me, and I doubt that she'll believe it was a rabbit this time..

At the fourtrees, ShadowClan and ThunderClan were already sitting and chatting. WolfStar and TorrellStar were sitting at the bottom of the Great rock. WolfStar was covered in scars from previous battles. One of his eyes were all blurry and had a scar running through it. His other eye was a light Amber and I could see gentleness in it. TorrellStar was a fluffy tortoise shell. She had torn ears and a scar running across her muzzle. SwiftStar went to join them and I started to search the area. I finally spotted her. A small ginger she cat with astonishing green eyes and an extremely fluffy tail. I raced over to her.

"ForestPaw!" I purred as I bowled her over laughing. She was laughing to.
"It's great to see you BarkPaw!" She smiled, her greens eyes shining like the sun in the moonlight.

She stood up laughing, then cleared her throat. "I don't believe I've introduced you to my friends yet. This is AshPaw," She purred, curling her tail with the grey apprentice's.

"Hey.. your BarkPaw, right? I've heard a lot about you" AshPaw gave a small, practiced smile.

"And this is DapplePaw" ForestPaw continued when AshPaw had finished speaking, but she didn't uncurl her tail. She indicated for the brown, white and black cat to come closer.

She's beautiful..

"Hello there" DapplePaw smiled, her amber eyes glowing like moons.

"H..hi..." I stutter. I lower my head, feeling my cheeks going hot and I hear ForestPaw give a small giggle and whisper to DapplePaw, "He likes you"

Sorry for the lack of updates on this story. I've been very busy lately but now that I am on school holidays I will try and update it more :3 Also because I'm in Australia and I'm a day ahead, it's Easter for me today (I'm not religious) so Happy Easter! :3
