Holly turned over on the bed, so her back faced the window, and she was staring at the door. She was waiting for her boyfriend, Carter to come home so she could jump in his arms, kiss him, mess with his hair, talk to him, everything she did to him. She loved him so much, she would never leave his side.
Then all of the sudden, Holly heard a knock at the front door. She turned over, to see it pouring rain, and lightning outside. Thinking it was Carter at the door, she got up and rushed to the front to get her boyfriend out of the pounding rain. It started to hail as she opened the door, revealing Carter's little sister Alex, who was sobbing her eyes out. Her face was red, around her eyes was red, and her nose was red.
"What's wrong. Alex?" Holly said as she pulled her best friend into a hug.
"Car-Carter... He was dri-driving home in the rain, and well there was ice on the road, and his car lo-lost control, he-he crashed into another c-car and his car exploded..." Alex said as she cried harder.
Holly was in shock. She didn't know what to do. Her dearest boyfriend, the love of her life, her one and only, had just got into a car crash. She pulled away from Alex, and cried harshly into her own hands.
"Wi-will he be okay? Where the fucking hell is he Alex?!" she yelled, furious and devastated.
Alex flinched, "He's at the hospital, he-he needed emergency surgery. They said he might not m-make it..."
Holly stood there in shock. Then for what seemed like hours, she screamed at the top of her lungs, crying hard. Her heart was broken but pounding hard. She felt numb. She didn't know what to do but cry her eyes out. So she did. She fell to her knees and cried. Hard.
Then after crying her eyes out for what seemed like days, Alex said, "Let's go wait f-for him Holl..."
Holly nodded as she stood up, her legs shaking. She put on her raincoat and zipped it up, put on her Nike tennis shoes, and walked out to Alex's car. Alex followed, and she unlocked the car and got in it. Holly did the same. They both buckled up, then Alex started driving to the hospital.
"Why?... Just why Carter? Out of anyone else in the world why him?" Holly cried.
"I don't know Holl... I don't know," Alex said as her voice cracked.
A little while later, they pulled into the hospital parking lot. They both got out still crying, and they walked into the hospital. Holly walked up to the receptionist as Alex followed, and she said, "Carter? Carter Horan?..."
"Oh him? Yeah he's hot," the receptionist giggled, twirling her black, curly hair. "Anyways he's still in surgery, they should be done soon. He broke a lot of bones and he has severe head trauma. He either won't make it, or he'll slip into a coma. There's still a chance that he'll make it out alive and without a coma, but the chances are very small." The receptionist sighed as she typed on the computer. "We're so sorry."
Holly backed away as she turned pale, her heart racing. She cried harder as she gasped for air. She couldn't breathe, and her heart hurt a lot. It felt like she had just ran a marathon, but she hadn't taken a single step. Her breath was short, and it was final.
She was having a heart attack.
Alex rushed to Holly's side, scared out of her mind. "Nurse? Doctor? Anyone?! She's having a fucking heart attack!" Alex cried for help.
A doctor rushed over with a stretcher, put Holly in it, and rolled her into a room quickly.
"Miss relax okay?" the doctor said as he started an operation. The last thing Holly saw was a doctor looking over her, and the last thing she felt was a sharp, but tiny pain in her right arm.
When Holly opened her eyes, she felt a presence beside her. She looked to her right, to find Alex right by her.
"Oh thank god you're awake Holly!" Alex smiled at Holly.
Holly was too weak to talk, so she mouthed, "Is Carter okay?"
"Look beside you..." Alex smiled.
Holly turned her head to find Carter right beside her, awake, and hot as always.
"Nice to see you awake babe..." He muttered to her.
A weak but big smile spread across Holly's face, as she reached in and kissed him.
