A/N sorry for not updating! I've been so busy with school!!
"Mom?" I yelled as I walked through the front door. "you home?"
Nothing but silence. I mumbled to myself "figures. you never are anyway..."
I sighed, dropping my bag on the floor. I walked into the kitchen, crossing to the pantry. I picked up a bag of crisps and opened them, I began eating them, picking out the salt and vinegar chips one at a time and popping them into my mouth. Once I finished my small after noon snack I walked back into the foyer and picked up my backpack. I padded up the stairs and down the long hallway into my bedroom. The walls covered in Posters of Linkin park and the script.
I once read somewhere that silence is the absence of love and life, me being the stubborn person I am, believed that it was peaceful. it was as if the silence soaked up your problems and relaxed you. with nothing to distract you and nothing to worry about.
I plucked my phone from my pocket and tossed it onto my black and white duvet. The fluffy duvet braking it's fall. I had just settled down into my bed when my phone started ringing.
Louis favorite song 'Exit Wounds' by the script, blasting through the devices tiny speakers notifying that I had an incoming call. the screen lit up and a picture of Louis and me holding hands on the beach covered the space.
We took that picture on our four month anniversary. He took me to the beach and we had a picnic. Yes a cliche picnic with chocolate covered strawberries and apple cider. it was probably one of the best days of my life.
*Flashback*
"C'mon Lou! I'm winning!" I yelled as I sprinted down the beach. sand crunching between my toes. I found it ironic how he was the one that challenged me to this race and now he wasn't even attempting to beat me.
I stopped breathing heavily and looked back to see him sitting comfortably on a large piece of driftwood. he was barely a black speck in the distance but I would know that white v-neck and maroon beanie anywhere.
I started trekking back in the direction I had come from. it took me a good five minutes but I finally made it back to the driftwood log. sitting atop the wood next to him, I plucked his beanie off of his head and placed it onto mine. I looked up to his chocolate brown hair to see it sticking up every which way.
He let out a low chuckle before looking over at me "hello beautiful." he smiles his white teeth glinting in the burning sun.
"You challenge me to a race then don't even give me any competition? C'mon Tomlinson. I just ran down the beach alone." I pouted slightly.
"Sorry love I got distracted.." He tossed the sharp rock he had possessed to the ground and closed his fingers around the object he seemed to be carving.
I tilted my head to the side and furrowed my eyebrows slightly "Distracted by what..?" I questioned apprehensively.
He thought for a minute bringing his bottom lip between his teeth. his eyebrows furrowed together in thought. he opened his mouth to speak, the corners of his eyes crinkling slightly. "Have you ever thought about what may happen to you? you know..in the future?"
I pondered for a minute. come to think of it..no I quite haven't. "No, I can't particularly say I have..why do you ask?"
He gazed ahead at the setting sun. He glanced down at his closed hand before opening it.
Inside was a small piece of driftwood, different shades of brown and tan mixed together. He had used the sharp rock to care it into a jagged heart. He put it onto a leather rope and tied it loosely around my neck.
The small pendant fell right above me beating heart. I smiled looking back up at him. "Louis, it's beautiful. thank you." I wrapped my arms around him hugging him tightly.
"You know..I'm sorry.." he apologized out of nowhere.
"What do you mean..? you haven't done anything.." I smiled watching the sun set. And as the night came upon us I could've sworn I heard him whisper
"Not yet..."
*End of Flashback*
I snapped back to the present time, blinking a few times I stares down at my vibrating phone and hover my finger over the 'Answer' button.
I sighed and pulled my bottom lip between my teeth, then without hesitation I clicked the red 'Decline' icon.

I stepped off of the bus the next morning as the rain pounded onto the concrete. I pulled my hood over my head and pulled the strap of my bag up higher before making the journey up the stairs of the school.
I stepped inside only to be greeted by the warmth of the heater and the different cliques.
I walked over to Eilis and Dezzy who were sitting by the lockers. Eilis was in the middle of drinking what appeared to be homemade hot chocolate. While Destinay was typing away on her phone.
"Hey Kate.." Eilis said looking over at me, "Louis has been running around school all morning trying to find you!"
I felt something pang in my chest.
Happiness maybe that he actually cared. but there was something else, hate and anger. he had lied to me and I wasn't forgiving him this easily.
I had received more that fifty calls and two hundred texts from Louis, and a few from the other lads. but I didn't really care to be honest.
I was snapped out of my train of thought when I heard a familiar voice call my name,
"Kate!"
I did the only thing I could possibly
Do at that moment...
I turn and ran.
