PERSONAL LOG ENTRY: 26
CHARLES F. KING
August 27th, 2089
LUNAR STATION (USLS)
Occupation: 1
DAYS SINCE ARRIVAL: 279
TIME: 1:39 PM (EST TIME)Oh God. This isn't good. Not good at all. ISS has sent me new info on the asteroid and it's a lot bigger than we initially thought. Way bigger. The asteroid set to hit earth in a week is a fourth the size of the moon. I'm at a loss for words.
Everyone at the ISS is panicking, and here I am, frozen in my chair in front of the screen. In a few hours, NASA will release an official statement on the meteor, but will be very vague with the info due to the chaos it may cause. They told us specifically not to mention actual asteroid details in the transmissions, or else it would spring chaos. That's a lot to hold back from the public. I think I speak for all of us when I say this: holding back from the world is easy, but holding back from the ones you care about, isn't so much. They've asked me if I wanted to go back to Earth and spend my last days with family, but I declined. One of the reasons I came up here was to get away, and going back down will give me more problems than I need right now. I'm supposed to head out and collect moon rocks, but this info has me stuck in my chair. I can see Earth from where I'm sitting, and a view that I thought was the most beautiful, has turned into a disturbing sight that will soon be.
I think I'm gonna pass on my routine for today. I just need time for myself. That's all. This is King, logging off.
