Jenna's P.O.V
A week into classes and the work that's been given has been pretty hectic but I still manage to do everything on time.
It's finally Friday. What to do on a Friday night?
Buzz Buzz* my phone received a text from Liam saying that tonight's the party and that he'd be dropping by my dorm so that we could walk to the party together.
Oh no, I almost forgotten about it. I asked Gabriella if she was still coming. She told me that she'd meet us there because she has a couple of errands to run.
The party starts at 7 and I'm not even ready. I have at least an hour to be ready.
I rushed into the shower for at least 20
minutes. Wrapped in a towel I looked through the dresser filled with my clothes and decided to wear jeans, a simple plain white tee, and a cardigan. For shoes I usually wear my white converse.
Exactly thirty minutes left and I still had time to do my hair. I casually just straighten it but I decided to curl some of the ends of my hair.
I grabbed my keys to the dorm, my cellphone and a small bag.
*Knock Knock.
It must be Liam. I looked into the mirror a last time to make sure I looked decent for this party and opened the door.
"Hey Jenna, you ready for the party?"
As Liam smiled looking so excited.
"Yeah, let's get going!"
"And by the way Jen, you look nice ha, maybe you'll impress a boy there" as he teased me walking out.
The place was only five minutes away from my dorm.
Liam and I had a small conversation about how we both like it here.
"So Jenna... make any new friends during your classes?"
I thought about it and it's only been the first week. I've probably made about three friends.
"Well there's Gabriella, Matt, and Larissa.. How about you?." Knowing Liam he probably made friends with so much people.
"Well I've made a lot actually but haven't really gotten to know all of them yet, but that's great Jen see you made friends and I'm guessing you're loving your classes as usual?"
He laughed but he was always right. I did love my classes and I'm proud of myself for making friends.
We arrived at the party. With a bunch of people talking and loud music, Liam stayed with me the whole time. It was really nice of him.
"You know you really don't have to stick around with me Liam.."
"Yeah but it would be mean if I just left you standing here, I did invite you to come." I smiled off, from a distance Gabriella finally made it.
"Jenna!" As she yelled rushing to me hugging me tightly.
"Oh Gabriella, this is Liam, he's one of my friends from high school."
Liam smiled at her and she did the same. "Hi.. I'm .. Um.. Liam." As he scratched his head smiling awkwardly.
"Well then, Jenna and Liam I'm going to get some drinks, be back soon!"
Well that was awkward. "Jenna, you gotta help me with something please?"
I was unsure with what he'd ask me. "Sure .. But what do you need help with..?"
"I think I have interest in your friend Gabriella, it be so great if you'd help me with her.. And plus isn't she your roommate?"
I felt weird that he'd have interest in her .. But if this will make Liam happy then I guess I can help him..
"Well... Jen?" He begged using his sad face and let's face it every time he'd asked me for a favour this always worked.
"Alright fine... I'll help you."
I still felt unsure about all this but it's for Liam.
"AHH thank you so much Jenna, I owe you big time, maybe you could ask her what she thinks about me yeah?
I sorta laughed about how he really needs my help.
"Slow down Liam, it takes time for this to all work out if you like her ok?"
He then nodded. Gabriella came back and handed us each a drink.
"Well before we drink this... let's make a toast to a happy semester."
We all brought our drinks in and cheered "TO A HAPPY SEMESTER."
..............................................................
It was about 2AM. Liam walked both of us back to our dorms. Most of the time he was talking to Gabriella. I didn't mind it, but it felt like I was the third-wheel.
I just hope Liam asking for my help with all of this won't get all his hopes up.
"Well I'm off to my dorm .. See ya another time Gabriella?" As he smiled cheekily towards her.
"Yeah sure haha.." From the look of it I could see her blushing about it.
"Oh and Bye Jenna, thanks again for helping me with this.. I'll text you soon." Hugging me and finally going back to his dorm.
Entering our room it was awkwardly quiet. "Well that was so much fun and your friend Liam, he's really sweet.."
I smiled thinking about how he really is. "Yeah he is.. let's get some sleep alright?"
Changing into my pj's I finally laid onto my bed. The thing is... I've liked Liam ever since high school. I just never told him because it was always an off on again thing.
Now I see he likes someone else I don't think I could ever tell him. I'm only helping him for the sake of our friendship.
I always wished he coulda liked me in that way but yet again I always thought he'd never like me...
I'm sorta like his wing-women. Maybe by doing this it would give me and Liam to hang out more. It wouldn't be such a bad thing right?
