*3 days later*
My stomach growled as if pouncing on its prey in the jungle, my throat  felt as if someone stuffed it with cotton balls and blasted with a hairdryer, and painful shivers crept along my body. Jonah, my foster Dad, locked me up 3 days and 5 hours ago. He tied me up with thick ropes and left me without food, water or heat. Right in the middle of December. Yesterday, he had given me a Dixie cup full of salt water, stating that was my only drink. I didn't touch it, fearing the salt would make me more dehydrated then I already was. Another spasm of chills came over me, and I curled up into a ball on the floor. After 5 minutes, I heard the lock turn and the door open. I immediately sat up and saw Jonah. He roughly grabbed me and cut me from the ropes. I was dragged outside and sat in front of a hotdog. He shoved the plate to me and said "Eat" I pushed it away, petrified he poisoned it. He shoved it closer and yelled "Why aren't you eating!" I was to terrified to speak. "You take life for granted, don't you Samantha!" Jonah yelled. He slapped me across the face. Hard. He then tipped the chair over and I smashed my head against the floor. My head throbbed with uncontrollable pain. He laughed and picked me up by the arm with great force. I yelped as he twisted it harder. I saw black splotches cloud my vision. Never had I felt so helpless in my life. Not even when Mom, Summer and Dad died. I heard, more than felt, my arm snap and I fell to the floor. I couldn't feel my arm. The last thing I heard was Jonah's uncontrollable laughter as I lost consciousness.

*4 hours later*

I woke up. My arm throbbed and I felt rope around my arms. It was pitch black. I tried to scream for help, but I realized I had tape covering my mouth. I wriggled out if the rope and tried desperately to open the attic door, with no luck considering my arm. For 3 hours I struggled,  and then collapsed into a heap of sobs. Totally spent.
