Chapter One

The pod was spinning. The coldness of space seemed to seep in the pod, for the power had been set to power-saving mode so the small, enclosed area was dark.

Ben shivered as he slowly gained consciousness. "G-grandpa?" He said as his teeth clacked together.

He glanced over to see a spot on his arm, still twitching with electricity. He rubbed it, feeling dizzy and confused.

Then his eyes widened. "No...No No NO!"

Ben floated over to the window and looked at the main controls. The pod was spinning out of control. He wanted to freak out, scream, punch the side of the vessel, but he knew that would do only harm.

As Ben tried to reset to controls, nausea started to take hold of him. "I can't take this much longer..." The dizziness made his head unbalanced, causing his finger to shake. Reaching for the motion stabilizes, his finger veered of and hit the left thruster instead throwing Ben into the back of the pod.

"UH." He grunted. Now it was spinning faster and faster, accelerating so fast Ben could not force himself against pressure on him.

He threw up, feeling his stomach twist into a knot. Grasping his head, he curled up into a ball. "MAKE IT STOP!" He pleaded, despite being alone. "JUST PLEASE..."

Ben couldn't take it any longer! With all the might he had, he pushed himself off of his knees, hurtling towards the other side.

However, he couldn't of stopped in time. As he slammed into the wall like a ragdoll, he felt a lightness, beyond all the pain and confusion. Still, he grabbed a handle sticking out of the wall. "Please, please..." He whispered as he tried to flip the stabilizer. His head felt as if it was about to be torn off from the pressure.

Ben slowly reached over to the controls, his whole arm was shaking now.

Click. Suddenly the pod started to slow its rapid spin. After another minute of suffering, it finally stopped spinning and continued to move into deep space.

Ben looked up towards, the window, his eyes half closed. He groaned as he summoned every ounce of strength that remained and pulled himself to peer out the window. What he saw felt like a stab to his heart.

His world. His home. All it was now was a grey rock, pulsing black and red of its surface.

He thought he saw something that was orbiting around the planet sparkle, but he figured it was just the sun's light reflecting off some debris.

Ben let himself shrink down, feeling cold overtake his body. He was shivering again. There was no point anymore. Life or Death. He just wanted to fade from existence. Maybe if he never existed, none of this would of ever happened...

"This is it..." He thought as he floated in the middle of the spacecraft.

How did it come to be like this?

FLASHBACK

Once we had seen the universe created and toured through its majestic beauty, we headed back home. Sure, there was the usual undertown crime and Billy Billions swore revenge once again, but it was nothing my partner and I couldn't handle...

Until that one day.

"Rook," Ben said. "When did you say your sister was visiting again?"

Ben and Rook were patrolling undertown, looking for Liam. Apparently there had been reports of him robbing different electronic stores.

"Next Wednesday." Rook replied, obviously trying to keep an eye out for the villain while Ben causally walked beside him.

Ben rolled his eyes, noticing Rook's rigid stature. "Rook, it will be fine! You don't have to be so alert! After all, Mr. Bird Brain is alone! We can easily take him out whenever he shows up."

"You should not always assume that, Ben." Rook said, annoyed.

Suddenly, the omnitrix beeped. Incoming Call from Magister Tennyson!

Ben held down the side button. "Hey Grandpa, what's up?"

"Ben, report to headquarters immediately we have a problem." Max's voice sounded very worried and Ben scrunched his forehead. "What is going on?"

"No time to explain! Just get here n-" Suddenly the call was cut off.

"We have to get to the teleporter as soon as possible." Ben tried called Max back. No answer.

Once they had reached the teleporter, they beamed in to see a dimmed environment with a red light flashing.  Plummers were racing to and fro, trying to get to their battle stations.  Ben ran in towards the main core, looking around quickly.

Max ran towards them.  "Ben!"

Ben turned around, facing his grandfather.  "What's happening?  Who is attacking us?"

Before Max could reply, a red and black being seeped up from the floor and headed towards the controls.

Ben gasped as his eyes gazed upon something he'd never see again.  "Malware..."
