Prolouge

October 20, Year X765, a baby was born. And this baby was a boy named Zanen Overholt. His mother's name is Sophia Overholt. His father's name is Auden Overholt. And his brother's name was Zander Overholt. Zander and Zanen were born with natural powers. Zander has control over wind, while Zanen has control over fire. Wonder why? No one knows really. Maybe it's just a gift or a miracle.

After years Zander and Zanen grew up. Zander was 8 years old, while Zanen was still 4. They eventually became well-known for their powers. Rumors started spreading. And scientists heard about it. These scientists weren't really the friendly ones. They use illegal experiments on humans. And they were abusive, brutal, and showed no mercy to test subjects. They planned to kidnap Zander and Zanen knowing that their parents woundn't just give them away for experiments, tests and torture. Yes, they torture people. 

There they saw them. They knocked the two of them out. And drag them away before others notice.

Zanen's POV

Where am I? 

Where's my brother? 

Where's my mother? 

Where's my father? 

These questions kept on repeating in my mind. I don't know where I am. I couldn't remember what happened. I saw myself sitting on a chair tied up, in a room. On my side I saw tools. They weren't attractive nor appealing at all.

"Ahh. I see that you're awake." I heard someone say.

"Where am I? Who are you? Where's my brother?" I question him.

"You're in my lab. I am Nixon. And you're brother is in a different room." He answers. "Well, now that you're awake..Let's start shall we."

"Start what?" I ask.

"You'll see." He replies.

I started trembling. I sensed something different about him. He smelled like blood. He had a murderous aura. He grabbed a tool in the tray next to me and started...torturing me. I repeatedly scream in pain. I was sweating. I was coughing blood. Blood was dripping down from my mouth. It wasn't great at all. It was despair.

This continued on for years. I get tortured, instilled with chemicals. Until that day came. The day when I became insane. I killed him..

Everything went black. I fell unconscious.

Then, I heard someone say "Hey wake up."

I opened my eyes and saw a dragon. Wait. A dragon?! And it seems like I'm in a cave.

"Finally you're awake. Perhaps you're hungry?" The dragon asked.

I rub my eyes to see if I'm dreaming or not.

I guess I'm not dreaming. But, where's brother?

I stared at the dragon wide eyed.

The Dragon chuckled at this "Welcome, I am Celzrach The Dragon Of The Demons, and I came from hell. I have heard that you were born with powers over fire, is that true?"

Zanen nodded an answer to the dragon's question.

"I see." said Celzrach "Now boy, may I know your name?"

"It's Zanen, Zanen Overholt." I answered." And sir, may I know where my brother is?"

"I'm sorry Zanen. I haven't seen your brother." Celzrach answered.

"Oh.."

The Dragon chuckled at the boy. "Now, now, you may call me as your father, for I have adopted you as my son."

Zanen became wide-eyed to the sentence of Celzrach.

"Is that true?!" I asked Celzrach.

"Yes son, and today I will be training you to be strong because there may be a time when I'll have to go." Celzrach said.

"You're just gonna leave me?" I asked.

"I would never leave you. To me, even if we have met just now, I feel like we have met thousands of years ago, that I don't wanna leave you." Said Celzrach.

"Thank you for adopting me, Celzrach. Even though I am much useless to everyone." I said to Celzrach.

"I'm happy to have a child like you Zanen. Never feel that you're useless to me, ok?" Celzrach replied.

"Yes!" I said with a nod. 

"Alright! Let's start training. Oh, I forgot. First, we need to get you fed." Celzrach said with a smile.

  It hurts that I am separated with my brother though. I promise that I'll find him...
