Texas came and went we won again, of course we did with Zak, Max and Eli on the team smashing through the opposing teams defence there was no doubt we would take the points. After Texas we moved on to Chicago, Buffalo, Denver and Indianapolis the next game was to be in Kansas City and Zak was particularly pumped for this game. He told me in college he lost badly to them and he felt he had a score to settle, despite the fact that this wasn’t the same team he said it would still make him feel better to win.
After Kansas there was only two more games and if they won they would move to the playoffs and then the Super Bowl. It was Zak’s dream to play in the Super Bowl, this was his first season as a professional player and he was determined to get his team there and win. I was so proud of him and how adamant he was that they would win, his sheer drive and motivation was catching and it made me want to help in any way possible.
So because of that I had been coming up with better and harder routines for the girls, I truly believed that they helped to win the game. They pumped up the crowd and in return the crowd cheered for their team non-stop, which gave the boys a real reason to win. The training was going well and the girls were happy with the progress they were making, and after a brief conversation with the Coach I found he was very happy with the way the team was coming along too.
I was currently at home waiting for Zak to get home from training, I always let the girls go before the boys and because they had a particularly good day we had finished even earlier. Instead of hanging around I decided to just go home and wait for Zak, I had been feeling a bit off lately and I was annoyed at myself for the reason. I was still thinking about that guy that looked like Coach Harvey, I knew it wasn’t him but it just kept reminding me of the man and what he had tried to make me do and what he had made Max do.
I still couldn’t understand what Coach Harvey had on Max, the Max I knew would never let someone force him into anything. He and Eli loved each other so much I knew they would rather leave the team if it would prevent each other getting hurt. So what could Harvey have used to blackmail Max, he used Zak against me but I just don’t think that was it, I would have to ask Max.
I just couldn’t concentrate at the moment the thought of the whole situation was keeping me up and I could tell that my stupidity was starting to wear thin with Zak. He was trying to be as supportive as possible because he understood how Harvey had made me feel, but he was tired and the constant moping around was making him upset. I had tried to forget about it, nothing happened after all, but I couldn’t explain it I just couldn’t get him out of my head at the moment.
I was sitting on the couch staring into space when Zak came through the door tired as usual, he looked like he was about to drop. I looked up and smiled but then I must have gone straight back to staring into space as I didn’t notice when he walked towards me and sat on the coffee table in front of me. He leaned forward and kissed me snapping me out of my trance, then he leaned back smiling and I tried to wake up a bit and smile back at him.
“Hey you were out of it, what you thinking about?” He asked me.
“Nothing really, you hungry?” I asked him smiling.
“Oh come on Billy don’t lie to me again, you were thinking about him again weren’t you?” He snapped.
