Everyday the heart creates enough energy to drive a truck 20 miles. In a lifetime, that is equivalent to driving to the moon and back.
So when you tell someone you love them "to the moon and back", you're essentially saying you will love them with all the blood your heart pumps your whole life; which technically  is equally meaningful.

I used to think it was meaningful.

But I guess it didn't matter, because now it's all clear what love actually is...

It is a non-existent piece of abstraction, that is made up for us to believe in. And we easily believe in it because it's the closest thing we have to magic; and if we cease to believe in love, why would we want to exist? There is way too much chaos and hatred to bear in this world, and we need an opposite force to believe in. We believe in it because we think that an obsession or infatuation is a form of love too.
But it isn't.

Love doesn't exist.

It's just a word.

Took me a long time to understand that.....
