"Hey, miss! I'm glad that we're in the same class. At least I have a friend on my first day.", Ashton said as he was trying to initiate a conversation with Aleisha. He didnt expect her to be in his class but he was grateful that Ms. Lou assigned him to take a seat beside her.
"Hey", Aleisha answered shortly without even meeting his eyes. No one used to talk to her first, except in groupworks or school-related stuff, so she was a bit awkward. "Did you just say friend?"
"Yup, you heard it right. I wasnt able to get your name a while ago because I was in a rush. Im Ashton, and you are?", Ashton asked her.
Aleisha finally looked up to meet his gaze but looked away immediately because his eyes are like a blackhole, sucking the consciousness out of her. She looked down as she felt she felt a faint flush of colour rising in her face and answered in an almost inaudible voice, "I'm Aleisha."
"Aleisha?", Ashton repeated to assure he heard the right thing. She only responded with a nod.
"Got it.", he told her before facing the board to listen to whatever the teacher in front was saying.
