Chapter 7~ Good friends?

Jordyn's POV

Monday

Today's the day of the talent show and I'm off timetable for the last to periods of the day in order to rehearse for the real thing in the evening. Saying I'm nervous is an understatement...I'm terrified.

"Thanks Tom" I said as the four of us unbuckled our seat belts and got out of the car as usual.

"No problem" he said locking the car. I said goodbye to the boys and walked over to the gate where Denzil was waiting.

"You know I had a feeling you wouldn't show" he told me as we started walking into school.

"Be lucky I am" I mumbled.

"Is this about the other day?" He asked cautiously. I shrugged.

"No course not, you're entitled to flirt with whoever you want so am I. We're just friends so I shouldn't be bothered over girls who you think are good looking, you're single. You can do whatever you like." I ranted as we walked up to form.

"So Denzil told me what ya said earlier" scout laughed as we done theory in food tech. I rolled my eyes.

"So?" She shrugged and left it at that. Denzil wasn't bothered about what I said was he? Course he wasn't, he's clearly interested in other girls.

"So you nervous bout tonight?" Scout asked referring to the talent show.

"Yea, very" I laughed.

"Well don't worry, you'll be great. Phoenix and I will be in the audience rooting for ya" she told me excitedly.

"What about Denzil? Will he be there?" I asked with hope.

"Course he will, Sam is in it as well" she told me reassuringly. I smiled a bit and nodded.

Denzil's POV

"There you are! I just had and interesting chat with Jordyn" scout said sitting beside me at the canteen table as I eat my lunch.

"What'd you mean?" I asked with my mouth full of food. She gave me a grossed out look but shrugged it off.

"She really wants you there tonight" she told me.

"Yeah and I'll be there" I said.

"Good. Because deep down I think she's already pissing herself with nerves and these days you seem to be the only person who can calm her down" she explained.

"Yea because I'm a good friend." I spat dropping my fork on my plate of food and letting out a big sigh.

"Our, you're not leaving this canteen until all that food is gone" my mum said pointing a spatula in my face as she walked past. Annoying things about having your mum work at your school.

"Rose maybe you can knock some sense into Denzil" scout said to my mum. She walked back over and sat opposite us.

"What's up?" She asked us.

"What's your opinions on Jordyn and Denzil?" She asked her.

"Scout" I warned.

"Oh yous two are very close aren't ya" my mum winked.

"Tell Denzil straight." Scout said fed up.

"You two clearly like each other, denz. And this is coming from your mum" my mum laughed.

"I don't have time for this" I said fed up and standing up leaving the canteen.

Jordyn's POV

I sat in the hall with Rona and Shona as Kyle practised his dance on the stage.

"He's so good" I said to them.

"And fit" Rona laughed. He finished his dance and the twins were next however Kyle decided to sit beside me.

"You were really good" I told him kindly.

"Thanks" he said slouching in his seat.

"You good then?" He asked me.

"Huh?"

"At singing?" He asked.

"Oh, I dunno." I said nervously.

He didn't talk to me after that just stayed silent the rest of the rehearsal. Personally, I don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be.
