the new girl

MATTS POV

my writing process was interrupted by the creek of the door behind me, & I glanced up to see a figure walk towards the front of the class, I began to look down, but quickly did a double take.

she look very casual with a loose tank top, which exposed a large amount of white lace, & her butt was covered by a pair of dark jean shorts. she sat in the back next to nick, my bestfriend, & he smiled at her.

she was beautiful.

i realized after a minute or two that I had been starring intently at this new girl, & reverted my gaze back down to my notebook. after a minute mr. Walters ask the blonde to introduce herself & she announced her name to be fay.

Fay. what a strange name.

after the rest of the team introduced themselves & I tuned out. my thoughts, once again were interrupted but me. Walters clearing his throat, & speaking directly to me.

"as the captain, don't you think you should introduce yourself?"

I stood looking directly into her eyes. another thing that set fay apart, one eye was green, & the other a light blue.

"I'm matt, & as you already heard, I'm captain." I finished. managing a small grin which noticeably made fay blush a bit. with that I sat back down in my seat & resisted the urge to walk over to that girl.

there was the usual team talk & a lot of loud laughing, but the whole room stopped to listen when one of the boys asked "so fay, you play any sports?"

"actually, I do." I could here her Smiling as she said this.

"well?" I heard one of the boys push. now I was interested.

"oh shut up she's probably just another cheerleader who only dates the star quaterback, and worried way to much about her hair." mumbled alicia, the quiet girl who sat alone.

fay smirked & said "actually you couldn't be more wrong. softball. I play softball."

fay said this just as the bell rang. a softball player? that looked like that? all of the girls here who played kept to themselves, & were rather, unappealing, to say in the least.

did my perfect girl just walk into my life?

I'm going to have to find out.
