Chapter 7

  Everything is pitch black and I try to say something but nothing came out. "Such a pity that you aren't just like her." What does that voice mean? I'm not like who? Everything started to clear up as I saw all my friends tied up on a pole. "Fear and darkness always conquers the light, there's no hope for you mortals." I looked ahead to see my Crystal Seer Dragon get destroyed and I felt like I was being suffocated and I tried to scream. Soon everything went dark again.

  I wake up with my door slamming open as I jump out of my bed.

  "That hurt."

  "Ashley! Get up!" Lola yelled as I get up and change into a black tank top and put on white ripped jeans with my red shoes and jacket. I put on my belt that holds my cards as I leave my room with my duel disk to see a panicking Lola.

  "What's wrong?"

  "Your two cousins came and are trying to convince your dad and Chancellor Sheppard to take you back to the city, and Jaden is trying to prevent it!"

  "Alright, thanks for telling me." I run down the stairs and sprint to the main building as fast as I can.

  Why would they want to take me back when they agreed I would stay in the last year? It doesn't make any sense.

  I kept running till I made it to the building and sprinted up the stairs. When I made it to the top of the stairs I and run into the office as I see Jacob and Ichi.

  "Ashley, now don't get upset dear." Dad says as I get air in my lungs and look at my two cousins.

  "What are you two doing here?"

  "Just bringing my cousin back to the city." Jacob stated as I feel a hand on my shoulder as I notice it's Jaden.

  "Look, how do you expect Ashley to just leave her dad and friends behind."

  "Sorry but I noticed that we shouldn't have let her come, and you stay out of this."

  "Don't talk to Jaden like that!" I say to Jacob as he only gives me a smirk.

  "How about instead of just taking her, why don't we have a duel."

  "Perfect idea Ichi and Ashley, your little friend will duel with you." I tense up as they look a Chancellor Sheppard and he smiled.

  "What do you say?"

  "I say perfect, tomorrow you four will have the duel."

  "Yes! Now I can show Rose how strong I am." Ichi says as I feel all the color drain from my body.

  "Now Ashley and Jaden head to class." Sheppard said as me and Jaden leave the office and walk to class. When we made it to class we both sat in our seats as I lay my head on the desk and groan.

  "I can't go against they're decks!"

  "Calm down Ashley, you shouldn't worry."

  "I should, and with everything going on it's too much." I mentally say to Valkyrie sigh as I lift my head and class starts.

  "Alright everyone we'll be doing a test." Dr. Crowler said as Jaden groans and I get my test as I start working on it.

  "This test seems pretty difficult."

  "Come on Water Wing, Ashley is gonna pass this test in a snap." I hear Dark Magician girl say to Water Wing as I answer another question. When I got done I turn it in and go back to my seat as I lay my head on the hard smooth surface.
The day went on with me sulking about the duel.
