Chapter two:

When I woke up I remembered Diane was coming today. I was dreading this day so much. Unfortunately it came. So, reluctantly I rolled out of bed and put on my blue jeans and black hoodie with my sneakers.

I walked downstairs hearing a doorbell and saw my mom walking towards the door. She opened the door and I saw Diane. At least I thought it was her. She was a little taller and had darker hair than the annoying little cousin I remembered. She looked so much mature than before.

"Hey Heather!" Diane said. She spotted me as soon as she walked in. She dropped her suitcases on the floor and walked towards me giving me a tight hug. "I haven't seen you in so long,"I said. "You look so, so mature. And your hair!" I was just so surprised. " Yeah had a growth spurt and I dyed my hair a little darker. You know a little change."

"Diane! You don't just expect me to carry all of your things in do you?" As soon as aunt Grace's new husband Micheal walked through the door he yelled at Diane. "No I don't I just wanted to say hi to Heather." "Well you can say hi to her when you carry your things in." When he finished yelling at Diane, she went back outside to the car to grab the rest of her suitcases.

Micheal introduced himself to my mom and I. He seemed very nice. But I don't think Diane really liked him. When she came back in she just sat there rolling her eyes at whatever he said.

My mom told me to help take Diane's stuff up to the guest room. I helped her put the sheets on the bed and set up the TV. When we got back downstairs my mom, dad, Micheal, and aunt Grace were all sitting in the living room having coffee. "Where's my favorite niece?Oh there she is! Come and give me a hug." Grace said with the sweetest voice ever.

I ran over and gave her a hug and me and Diane sat down. She sat down next to me. "Oh Diane are you excited about going to high school?" My mom asked. "I'm excited but I'm a little scared" I don't understand why she was scared though. She made friends easily...Unlike me.

We just talked about almost everything there was to talk about. When we were done chatting, aunt Grace and Micheal got up and gave Diane a hug. "Be good sweetie." Grace said walking out the door. "Bye you guys!" We all waved out the door as they were driving off.

When they left me and Diane went upstairs to my to my room and started watching Netflix. "Is this what you do all day?" She asked with a chuckle. "Yep. I don't do a lot," I said. "But if you want we could go to the pool." "Yeah that sounds fun." She went in the guest room and got her swimsuit while I called Cindy to ask if she wanted to come.

"Is Diane coming?" She asked. "Yeah she is but don't worry. She isn't as annoying as she used to be." Cindy sounded reluctant but she said she'd come. We went downstairs and asked my mom could we go to the pool and if she could drive us. I ran back upstairs and changed into my swimsuit.

When we got to Cindy's house we went inside to wait for her. My mom and her mom were best friends like us. They would share recipes and do things mom's would do together.

"Oh hey Diane, haven't seen you in a while." Cindy said when she was finally finished getting ready. Right after she came out of her room we went to the pool.

As soon as my mom dropped us off I saw Christopher with his girlfriend "ugh" I thought to myself. "Will they ever break up?" "Hey Heather!" Christopher yelled over to me. I walked over to him and gave him a hug. His girlfriend Jade gave me a dirty look. Like I'm trying to take him from her or something.

"Um...Cindy, does Heather like that guy? Cause it sure looks like it." Diane said with a chuckle. Cindy shrugged and got in the pool. Diane followed her. Diane didn't know how to swim very well so Cindy gave her a slight swim lesson while I talked to Christopher.

"What are you doing this summer?" I asked him. "Oh nothing much. Just hanging out with friends. How about you?" "Well me and Cindy are going to my cabin again. And my little cousin is coming too." "Sounds fun. But um, Chris do you want to go in the eight feet?" Jade said like she was trying to get away from me. I don't think she really liked me. It was either that or she just gets jealous easily.
