Entering the Ruins

Y/N woke up in a bed of many flowers with mist as they felt rain drip onto their face. They got up, and walked down hall way.  Seeing the door, they walk into to see a flower. It looked up, and smiled.
*Hello, human..
Suddenly, white pellets appear at its sides.

*Why are you here? Down here, you know, it's MURDER or BE MURDERED.

With a quick giggle, the pellets shot forward. Suddenly, they stop. The flower hid, and the pellets dropped. A goat lady walked up.

*Hello, child, are you lost? Are you alright?

She asked many questions.

*You must be so confused..Don't be afraid, I am Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins. I would pass through here to talk to the Flower, but it seems I can't trust it..

She lets out a dissapointed sigh. "You are the first human to come here ever since..then. I will protect you while you're here. Follow me, child, I will show you around." She grabs Y/N's hand and begins to walk forward.

Y/N meets her in a room, and sees leaves forming a square. Infront of it, there is a light.

*The depressing shadow of the Ruins looms above. Filling you with sadness.

*HP fully restored

Toriel was waiting at the top of the stairs for Y/N. Once Y/N catches up, Toriel walks into a small building. They follow, and meet Toriel in a room with buttons on the floor.

*Welcome, young one.

*Allow me to educate you in the operation of these Ruins.

She walks across two of the buttons next to eachother, then does the same thing with the top pair. Then she goes up to a lever and pulls it.

*These Ruins are full of puzzles.

*Ancient fusions betwern diversions and doorkeys.

*One must solve one to make it to each room.

*Adjust yourself to the sight of them.

Y/N stares at the buttons and the lever. Y/N is adjusted, and they walk up to Toriel. She grabs their hand, and takes them to the next room.

*To make progress here, you will need to trigger several switches.

*Do not worry, child, I have labelled the one that you need to flip.

She walks to the first few levers, and Y/N reads the gray sign.

*Stay on the path.

They quickly run back to the path and reads the sign there.

*"Press [Z] to read signs"

It was hard to read this sign, since it was broken and faded. Y/N walks towards Toriel.

*Child, the first switch is over on the wall.

Y/N looks at the wall, and sees yellow by the lever. They pull the lever and Toriel walks towards the next pair.
Y/N pulls the labelled switch and deactivates something.

*Splendid!
*I am proud of you, little one.
*Let us move on.

Toriel walks into the next room.

*As a human living in the Underground, other monsters may attack you.
*You will need to be prepared.
*However, child, worry not.
*This process is simple.
*When you encounter a monster, you will enter a Fight.
*While in a fight, strike up a friendly conversation.
*Stall for time. I will come resolve the conflict.
*Practice with this dummy.

She walks up to the corridor and waits. Y/N walks up to the dummy and enters the fight.

*You encountered the Dummy.
*ACT
*Dummy
*Check.     *Talk.
*You speak to the Dummy..
*...Doesnt seem much of a conversation.
*Toriel is happy with you.
*You win!
*0 XP
*0 G

*Very good, child.

Toriel goes into the next room.
*There is another puzzle in this room..
*Do you think you can solve it?

Y/N follows Toriel to the puzzle.

*Froggit attacks!
*ACT
*Check
*Compliment
*Threat
*Life is difficult for this enemy.

Toriel comes up with a glare towards Froggit. It runs away.

*You win!
*0 XP 0 G

Y/N continues to follow Toriel.

*This is the puzzle but...
*Take my hand, child.

Toriel grabs their hand and takes them down the correct path of spikes.

*Puzzles seem dangerous for now.

She walks into the next room, Y/N follows.

*You've done excellent thus far, child.
*I have a task for you....
*Walk to the end of the room alone, forgive me...

She runs towards the end of the rook, out of sight. Y/N runs after her.
Y/N loses Toriel, and she soons comes up from behind a broken pillar.
*Hello, child.
*I did not mean to worry you, I was just testing your independents. I'm sorry child.
*I must attend to important business, stay here, also, heres a cell phone.  Call me whenever. Goodbye.

She walks out of the room.
Y/N walks out as well.
*Ring..
*This is Toriel, you haven't left have you? There are puzzles you still need to understand! I love you, child.

Y/N walks to a pile of leaves and sees another shine.
*Playfully crinking through the leaves fills you with happiness. HP fully restored.

Y/N feels happiness drown out the depressing atmosphere.
