Monarch, To the Rescue! (A Miraculous Ladybug x Reader Story)

Chapter 2

~(Y/N)'s POV~

     "Kelli, wings out!" I yell, and the transformation begins. Once transformed, I make sure no one is watching and shoot a grappling-hook arrow. It connects with a light pole and I push off, holding onto my bow like a zipline. I hear an explosion and see smoke in the distance.

    "That must be my destination," I muttered, making my way to the source of the explosion. Suddenly I heard this ear-piercing scream.

    "Shoot! Agh!" My vision blurred, and I tripped. Well, I thought, I was only a superhero for five minutes, and now I'm gonna die. Yay!  Suddenly, I felt arms catch me, and I was being held bridal-style. All I could make out was black and...green?

      This is embarrassing. I'm a superhero being saved by... My vision cleared. A guy in a cat suit?

     "Um...excuse me...can you put me down?" I asked. "Oh, um, yeah, one second," he stuttered, and finally set me down on TOP OF A BUILDING. "So, uh, who're you?" I asked. "You don't- you don't know who I am?" He asked in disbelief. "Wait! You're Chat Noir!" I suddenly remembered.

     Stupid (Y/N), stupid dummy.

    "And who are you?" He asked, composing himself. "I'm um..." I tried to think of a name. "...I'm Monarch!" He smirked, and I blushed-NO NO NO, NO CRUSHES, COMPOSE YOURSELF (Y/N)!

     "Well, Queenie," he winked, "pleasure to meet you." Ugh, I thought, a flirt. My greatest downfall.

     "Chat! What are you doing?" I heard a voice from behind me. I turned around to see Ladybug standing impatiently, staring at us. "Oh, uh, I'm Monarch, and, I- uh, I think I'm your new partner?" Great, now I can't even form a complete sentence. She looked at me suspiciously. I shuffled my feet. "How do we know you aren't an akumatized villain, working with Screeching Willow?" Screeching Willow? "Um...who now? Should I know them? Oh gosh-"

      "Ladybug-what's wrong. You're acting really weird," Chat Noir noted. "Just- remember Volpina? She fooled us by doing this exact thing..." Ladybug trailed off. Chat and I walked up to her, and I put my hand on her shoulder. "Ladybug... If I were really 'akumatized' or whatever, would I have needed Chat to stop me from falling to my death? If I were in cahoots with Screeching Willow, I probably wouldn't be able to be this close to you without trying to take your Miraculous." I gave her a sheepish smile. "Guys, cover your ears!" Yelled Chat. All of a sudden he pushed me down and shielded me.

"Agh!" Screeching Willow was really close to us, and my ears! Ugh! I realized that I couldn't breathe, and remembered Chat was on top of me. "Chat...can't breathe..." I was hitting him, gasping for air. He leapt up, and I sucked in the air. "Oh, sorry Queenie!" He helped me up, and we ran after Ladybug.

-Time Skip To After the Battle-

~Adrien/Chat Noir's POV~

"Well, Queenie, you did really well today," I said to Monarch. "I'm sorry about nearly suffocating you earlier also," I apologized. I really was sorry, I didn't mean to. "Well, Chat, thank you for saving me earlier. I really thought I was only going to be a superhero for five minutes." Sadly, my ring beeped and I had to leave. I knelt down and kissed the top of her hand. "Farewell, Queenie," I said, and she blushed. On the way home, she was all I could think about. Her (H/C) hair that shone in the sunlight, her sparkling (E/C) eyes. She was amazing.

Oh my goodness! This might be the longest chapter so far! I just need to say a few things:

3) In case you didn't know, another meaning for monarch is ruler, so that's why Chat calls her Queenie.
