I woke and looked at the time it was 6 a.m. Putting on some shorts and sports bra I left my house to go for my morning run. After a couple miles I made my way back home and jumped in the shower. I love showers. I turn the water as hot as it will go and it instantly steams up the room. I used my favorite Axe for Her body wash while singing. Yes, I was a shower singer. After getting out of the shower I got dressed in some camouflage pants and gray sweater. As I put on my boots I listened to the religious channel on my phone. This was my equivalent of going to church. Brushing my hair into a tight hair-bow I put a cap on my head that said Ford. I didn't want to get my sister's car all muddy so I decided to walk to the place where I was meeting my friends. I, myself, didn't have a car.
When I made it to the meeting place I smiled. I had invited Tris but she had declined not liking to go mudding. There were five others with me today and they were all boys. Mike who is a man-whore, Josh the nice one, Kennedy the shy one, Kennedy's twin Harry, and John the Beta.
I smiled at my friends. "Are ya'll ready to go muddin'?!"
I got a chorus of "Hell ya!"s
I got on one of the four-wheelers not liking dirt bikes. We hooted and hollered and acted like the teenagers we were. We were celebrating because tomorrow there would be another pack with us and we had to be on best behavior and my ribs got fixed. I had cracked some earlier this week in a fight but luckily they were all better now.
We were out until four o'clock and then had to go home. We were required to be at a meeting at the Alpha house 5:30 and no later. I quickly made my way home and ate, for the first time today, before taking another long hot shower. When I was sure all the mud was out of long blonde hair I blow dried it and put on some skinny jeans. Grapping my Under Armor purple hoodie I looked at the clock and stopped dead. I'd spent more time in the shower then I had recently thought. It was 5:25 p.m. The meeting was in five minutes and I know that my mom and sister already left, leaving me without a car.
"Shit!" I said loudly and with expression before throwing on my jacket and running down the stair and out of my house. I would change but since we aren't permitted to go into the woods, because of the recent attacks, I had to go in my human self. Conner lives about ¾ a mile away from my house. I might make it if I really try. Racing down the road I prayed I make it in time.
Three and ½ minutes later...
I ran to the backyard and into Conner's back. Oh, shit, I went the wrong way. If I had came into his backyard on the other side of the house than I would be merged into the crowd of werewolves from our pack. As it was I came in at the side where Conner and Tris stood talking to us. He turned and his face showed the anger he was.
"Jordan!" I tried not to flinch. "What do you think you're doing? Why are you late?" He growled.
"I'm not late! It's 5:29 as we speak." I smiled at Tris and then got off the stage before I made Conner so mad his wolf came out. Conner sighed and controlled himself before continuing.
"Wolves, I want you to remember that when we meet the other pack we will not look up. It is a sign of disrespect and I will not allow it. You all will do the requirements of introducing a new pack. You all will go and not speak, sniff, or look at the other pack. They will follow this code too. Then when we return her if you go to school you can make your way home but if you aren't a minor or a parent of them then I would ask you to stay and welcome the new pack into the Pack house." He used his Alpha voice because of the children. Usually they wouldn't be coming. The children would stay home with the other pack's children who got sent ahead but since the last attack we do not separate. The Dark Moon pack had already sent their stuff ahead of them. We all told Conner we would follow his orders and then we took off. When we got there the other pack was nowhere to be seen. Conner stood in the front with Tris, the only other member allowed to look up, with John on Conner's right and a little behind him. That is where the Beta stands. And then the third-in-command, whom was usually the best fighter other than the Alpha or Beta, stood to Conner's left and slightly back. That was me. I was third-in-command and in charge of training. Which would be started tomorrow.
William POV
I raced ahead with my pack behind me. When we entered the clearing Alpha Conner's pack was already in position. I did a glance over to see that his Pack was quite large. Mine wasn't too big but we were strong. We got into an identical position with my Beta, Carson, and my third-in-command, Morgan on my left. I looked over Conner noting he was strong. He was around 6'4 with big muscles and golden blonde hair. His Luna stood beside him; she, too, was tall with short brown hair and pretty. His Beta was a common brown haired male with nothing extraordinary going on. His third though was very different. There was hardly ever a woman in third or Beta position. She was medium height around 5'6 with deep blonde hair that hung to her waist. Her skin was golden and she had full lips and a shapely body. She was quite beautiful and my mate. I could smell her from here. I knew she couldn't smell me though. She wasn't allowed and the wind was blowing from behind her pack to mine.
I didn't believe in rejection but I wasn't going to let her know I was her mate. I didn't want a weak mate and planed to see how strong and loyal she was before making myself known. My wolf was growling at me telling me to go to my mate. I couldn't. Even if I was ready to accept her I couldn't in front of everybody and during our Pack's meeting session.
"Alpha Will, we welcome you and the rest of the Dark Moon pack unto our land." Conner said seizing me up.
"Thank you," I notice my mate and some other she-wolves shiver at my voice which was deep. "We agree to help with your fight." He nodded and then, switching forms, we all made it to the Pack house.
When we got there I saw my mate taking off running down the road and I walked up to Conner and pointed her out.
"What is she doing? Aren't you under attack? What if she gets attacked?" I didn't want anyone to guess she was my mate but I had to know she was going to be ok.
"Oh, she's fine. She ran here." He then cracked a smile looking down at Tris.
"I pity the poor wolves that attack Jor. She was a part of both attacks before and sent them all running." I could tell from Tris's tone that they were close. I nodded and then asked my next question.
"Where is Jordan? I would really like to thank her personally. She is the reason I agreed after all."
"Jordan who? In a pack this big we have a few." Conner asked while Tris looked on in interest.
"The Jordan that killed the girl who went rouge from my pack a couple years back." They both started laughing and looked at them surprised not understanding.
"You know that girl you were just worried about?" I nodded. "That was here."
