My blood ran cold, I had no idea what was going on. Why did Mary have a gun, why was she inside my suite at 9PM? Why was she looking at me as if the gun was intended for me?
"Mary, this is not necessary. We can have a discussion in the morning when everyone is thinking clearly." Marco's lusty voice was now replaced with his calm negotiation voice. This man surprised me more and more.
If there was any point in my where I could say life is not fair, it would be this point.
Marco had shoved me into the guest room with so much force that I hand landed on my ass. I scrambled up to see what was happening. I could not let him face Mary on his own. I knew she didn’t like me much but honestly to break in to my suite and pull a gun on me. Unbelievable!
“I don’t think so Marco, I can see now that you were never intending on letting me be anything more than your Personal Assistant.” Mary screeched out, I don’t know what she’s getting at but she’s just messed with something I was REALLY looking forward to.
“Mary, you are my PA and a damn good one at that. I have told you this on numerous occasions. But I don’t know….”
I quickly put my bra back on and rushed through to the living room, my heart stopped. Mary was aiming the gun right at Marco, and he was walking closer.
“Mary what on God’s green earth has gotten into you?” I interrupted Marco, sensing that he was not very impressed that I had come out of the guest room. Well he should learn early on that I’m not the cower in the corner type of girl.
“Oh perfect, the real reason I’ve come tonight.” Mary grinned as she changed her stance to direct the gun at me. Marco swore under his breath, okay I admit maybe it wasn’t such a bright idea to walk into a room with a crazy lady holding a gun.
“Mary, what have I done to you to make you want to off me?” I was being blunt, but I don’t believe in tip-toeing around the crazies.
“Oh poor innocent Roxanne doesn’t know what she’s done. Bitch. Don’t insult me by acting dumb. You set your sights on Marco and you have forced him to marry you. I don’t know how you did it or why he agreed to it, but I will no longer idly sit by while you use your sex appeal to get him to pay attention to you.” Mary was clearly being blunt too.
“I honestly have no idea what you are talking about? I have not forced Marco to marry me, in fact he asked me! “ I looked over at Marco who was slowly trying to move to the kitchen counter where both our cellphones were. I had to keep her distracted.
“Mary, I wanted all of the staff aware of this arrangement but Marco thought you would all lose respect for me. I don’t care if you respect me or not. Marco & I are not in love,” it actually hurt to stay that out loud, “nor is this a normal marriage. For personal reasons I needed financial assistance, Marco offered an arrangement where he loans me the money and I pay him back over 5 years. In order to guarantee payment he asked that I signed a marriage certificate which will give him the surety required.” As I spoke, I could see her lowering the gun. She seemed to calm a bit. I stole a glance at Marco to see how far he was with the phone, but only saw him staring at me. I bloody hope he got hold of someone to come and help us.
"So what was happening when I walked in now?" she definitely sounded calmer, but the gun wasn't completely down yet. I had to tread carefully, she did walk in when I was in my bra.
"Marco had come over for coffee for us to finalize a few arrangements, I tripped and messed coffee on myself. It was so hot I started screaming. Marco jumped up to help me remove my soaking blouse." Yes, it seemed as if she was believing me. "I was actually on my way to my room to put a clean one on when you rushed in."
