Chapter 8

I was woken from my sleep by a sudden lurch, the rides moving

"Everyone wake up! "

everyone mumbled and grumbled but when they realized we were moving they shouted for joy.

"Austin, whats going on?"

Jesabelle looked at me and grinned as she realized we were moving, looking at me and giggling as she bounced in her seat.

The ride stopped short about 10 feet from the ground, our seat bars unlocked and we all stayed in our seat,

we need to get down.

"all of the men say here!"

there was a chorus of 'here's' as i thought, the tall guys could jump down then catch the shorter people

i slid off my seat and grabbed onto the seat, dangling, I swung back and forth until i let go and landed on the ground

"hey men! jump down, well catch the shorter people! " there was a chorus of oofs as men jumped down and whooped for joy as their feet hit the ground.

"alright men lets get everyone down!"

i looked up at Jesabelle, who looked scared

"I'm scared Austin"

"I know, but you can trust me, i'll catch you." she looked doubtful before jumping down and landing in my open arms. she giggled as i set her down on the ground

"when you get down line up at the gate!" the attendants rushed around giving the ladies blankets

i walked to the next car over, smiling at a little girl, about 7 years old.

"hey sweetie, you gonna come down?" she shook her head

"what's your name sweetie?"

"lila"

"hi lila, I'm Austin,will you please let me catch you? i promise i will" the girl looked scared but slid to the edge and jumped into my arms, smiling at me as she did so

"My baby!" a woman ran up to me and took Lila from me, thanking me as she did so.

its all over, were off the ride,

"You're really good with kids."

i turned around to see Jesabelle smiling at me. suddenly her arms were around my neck, she buried her head in my neck as i wrapped my arms around her, holding her tight,in relief, were off!
