Author's note...

Here's a new chapter, what will happen to the two lovers Adam and Ariana is adam can survive to the war or his not ??..

"So you really are going, huh?"

A steely voice called me from behind.

I turned around and the burning red caught me. The blackest eyes bore at me and it almost made my knees buckle.

"What do you want, Amanda?"

I hissed, struggling to stare back. Her cropped red hair was all over her face but I can see her dark hard eyes glowering at me.

"Where is Ariana?" she asked, ignoring my question.

I sighed. "She's asleep. I carried her to your house."

She raised her pointed eyebrows."And you just left her there?"

My jaw hardened. "It's none of your business."

I said through clenched teeth.

"Ariana is my sister. It's my business." She replied coolly.

I groaned inwardly. My travelling bag isn't getting any lighter. And Amanda is the last thing I need before I go.

Unlike Ariana, Amanda is strong and independent.

She's steely and sharp, practical and emotionless most of the time.

But despite all our arguments and fights, Amanda is my best friend ...or at least she was.

Because I know that behind it all, she's very loving and dedicated. She pours all her love out to her sister. And that is the very why she's bugging me now.

"Ariana loves you, Adam. You are so selfish!" She screamed at me. "She will never live without you! You know that you conceited moron!"

"And I can never live without her too........" I said weakly.

Amanda just looked at me.

"You know I have to do this. The war isn't going to stop by itself..."

I reasoned out, trying to convince her, and also myself.

It was harder to say "no" to her.

She uses so much force and intensity with her words...and especially her eyes.

"It doesn't have to be you." Her voice is harder than ever.

I sighed again. "It doesn't have to be anyone either."

I turned away and shoved the bag upper on my shoulder, then I felt her grip it.

"Be safe."

Those simple words were said in blank tones, but as I looked back at her, I caught the faintest hint of concern etched on her face.

But it only lasted a second. Her face then returned to its uncaring expression and her hand fell back to her side.

I waved goodbye at her, my gaze travelling back to their house. Knowing that behind the lacy curtains is my sleeping Ariana.

I will come back for her, and I know she'll be waiting....
