(Emma's POV)

My alarm blared throughout my room. I quickly shut it off. My mind was slow to walk up because it took me a few seconds to realize. Today was the day I found out what play we are doing for the year end production. The moment I had been waiting for for years now. It's finally here. I am going to stop at nothing to make sure I get make it to the top.

I jump out of bed and make my way into the bathroom. I take a quick shower and sing while I get ready. My hair dries as I get dressed into a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt, and a flannel. I let my hair fall loosely on my shoulders. Finally I slip my glasses on.

My feet bounce down the stairs as I enter the kitchen. A note sits on the table. I grab it and read it while I grab an apple from the fridge.

Emma,
Sorry I couldn't see you off on a day like today but the freezers at work malfunctioned and I had to go into the store to help them fix them.

Love, Ingrid.

Ingrid was my adoptive mother but she was more like a big sister to me. She was just nothing short of amazing.

I'm a little disappointed that she isn't here, but that's ok. Hopefully she can see me off tomorrow for my auditions.

I grabbed my lunch from the fridge and packed it into my bag. I locked the house before getting into my bug. God, I love this car. It just says everything me. The drive to school was good but nerve racking none the less. Today was a really big day for me.

I got to school and quickly put my books away. I went to English and sat down in my spot. The teacher didn't mind. I just worked on spare writing to waste the time. I left a text in the group chat telling the girls to come here later.

(Third Person's POV)

Killian argued with his brother.

"I get it, I made a mistake Liam! Can we just forget it?"

"No! I have 'forgotten' about too many of your incidents. It is time you have some sense slapped into you. You have a meeting with the principal at lunch and you have to be there." With that Liam pushed Killian out of the door.

(Emma's POV)

The girls had come to sit with me and we were talking away until they had to leave or else they were going to be late for class. I got a text not even 30 seconds later saying,

Regina
Holy shit Em! Jones looks like absolute shit today. Is that even possible?!

I laughed and shoved my phone back into my bag. Killian came through the door and I couldn't help but agree. He must be really hungover or something. Everyone, me included, stared at him. Not once in all these years had Killian Jones looked anything less than perfect. The school seemed different because one of its little pieces was not like it usually was.

I had to force myself to pry my eyes off of him. The class went on exactly the same as before. Well, aside from the whispering.

Math went by fast. Then it was lunch. Finally! I was getting really hangry! I sat with Regina and Mary Margaret at our usual table and oddly enough, Killian Jones had failed to show up for lunch as usual with his friends. I have to be honest, I almost felt bad for the guy.
