Harry's POV

I put my head phones on and drown out the noise of the screaming crowd. We have just arrived in New York. We will be staying here for three months to do interviews, perform concerts, and many other things that will keep us busy. I check my twitter feed and see a direct message from my friend Lance. He lives in Manhattan and we are planning to meet up.

"Harry get off your phone it is time to get out," My band mate Zayn says.

"Just wait a second." I type him a message asking him to meet me at our hotel. I climb out of the limo and am immediately greeted by a group of screaming fangirls. Shit. How did they find us? I give them a warm smile and pause to take a couple selfies. Our body guard Paul ushers us into the hotel lobby. A brunette woman greets us with a bright smile.

"Welcome to our hotel. I will show you to your rooms." She takes us to our rooms and before we go in she winks at me and slips a piece of paper into my jean pocket. I walk into our room and open the piece of paper. It has her phone number. Very typical.

Niall gives me a look. "Are you going to call her?"

I think about it for a moment. "Nah I don't think so. This is New York I have many better options."

Niall shakes his head and crashes on the large king size bed. "I don't understand why girls like you so much."

Niall laughs. "Personally I think that if you shaved your beautiful hair off the ladies wouldn't be so crazy about you."

I chuckle. "I would still have my amazing charm and incredible wit."

Liam and Louis walk into the room and turn the TV on.

"Oh ya guys I forgot to tell you Lance is coming in a bit," I say. All the boys groan.

"That guy is a douche." Louie says.

The other boys nod in agreement and I roll my eyes. "He is not that bad," I protest. "Just a little misunderstood."

"He called me the short leprechaun the entire time he visited in England," Niall complains.

"Okay! Okay," I say. "I won't hang out with him for long. He will probably want to go out to the city anyways."

As if on cue my phone rings and I let him come up. Lance has black hair and dull blue eyes. He has an obvious hangover as usual.

"Harry!" Lance shouts. "How have you been lately mate? I have been great! New York has been one non stop party for me since my dad came into some money."

"That is great Lance! You remember the boys Liam, Louis, Niall, and Zayn."

They give unenthusiastic greetings and Lance smiles. "Its the short leprechaun! Great to see you mate," he says. He slaps Niall on his back and Niall rolls his eyes.

I admit Lance can be a bit much but we have been friends since we were in diapers. He has changed but I like to think he is the same guy I played super heros with as a toddler.

"So Harry are you ready to hit the clubs tonight?" Lance says.

"How about we go to the cinema?" I suggest lamely.

"Are you serious Harry? We are in New York and you want to go see a movie?" Lance shakes his head in shame.

I really was hoping I could convince Lance to do something other that partying because he can be a little out of control in those type of situations. I rack my brain thinking of an excuse.

"Oh Lance I forgot that we have this um interview thing later today. How about I have reign check," I say quickly.

Lance sighs. "Well that is okay but we definitely need to go out together another time. Think of all the ladies I will get if they know I am Harry Styles friend."

"Okay another time. It was fantastic seeing you though." I say ushering him out of my room.

Once Lance leaves Liam speaks up. "Thank God he is gone."

"I can not put in words how much I loathe the guy." Zayn says.

After this Zayn and Liam go to their rooms and its just Louis, Niall, and me. Louis gets a call from management and he needs to go talk to them about something.

"I guess it is just you and me Niall." I say scoping the mini fridge for some candy.

"What should we do?" Niall asks.

"Well going out is certainly ruled out since our hotel is surrounded by fans."

We decide on a watching a movie and watch some obscure indie movie we find on a channel I do not recognize. The movie is about this girl who becomes homeless at the age of fourteen and is forced to become a prostitute. At the end of the movie every one she loves dies and she is alone and old. This movie is certainly a happiness booster.

"So Niall what did you think of the movie," I say. I look over and I find Niall sleeping on the couch. I guess it is just me. I am in New York. I should not just be sitting around watching depressing movies. I grab a pair of sunglasses and a hat that covers my hair. I sneak out of the hotel room and find a back exit. I swiftly come out the door and walk down the street. I can hear teenage girls screaming and I spot a cab.

I catch the cab and give the driver twenty bucks to stay quiet about my identity. I decide to have the taxi driver take me to central park. I have been their before but never really got to enjoy it. I sit on a bench and read the book I brought along. I am reading The Great Gatsby. It has always been one of my favorite books.

It is nice to go unnoticed every once in a while. I look up from my book at the busy city. I see business men walking on their phones. I see mothers moving around their screaming children in strollers. I also see a young couple walking together hand in hand. I wish I could have a life where I was invisible. I love my life but sometimes I think what if. What if I was in college now what would my life be like then? It seems like a great concept being invisible. To be unnoticed.
