Back to present time.

Autumn's Point of View.

"Congratulations to Jamie Jackson and Zoe Casey," the principal announced with a broad smile before starting the clapping once again.

Basically, everyone was clapping. The boys liked Zoe and the girls liked Jamie.

I, was still in too much shock to move a muscle, my mouth ajar, staring at Jamie like he was a ghost. Millie walked over and lightly tapped me on the shoulder.

"Are you okay?" she yelled over the applause and cat calling.

I shook myself back to reality and plastered a forced smile onto my face before turning to face Millie.

"I'm fine," I assured her before turning back around to face the front. Even after this long time the applause hadn't stopped. I slowly raised my hands and started to clap. Zoe soon had made her way back after thanking the many 'congratulations' thrown at her.

"So...how did I do?" she asked cautiously, afraid of what my answer would be.

"What?" I asked dumbly, watching Jamie until he disappeared into the crowd of students.

Zoe rolled her eyes before explaining exasperatedly, "You know, on stage, yeah?"

Truth be told, I was hardly paying attention to Zoe's actions on stage. By then, I was still recovering from the unexpected shock Jamie gave me.

But, to please Zoe, I replied "You were amazing!"

Zoe seemed to be rather pleased with my answer and a happy smile replaced her worried features. She started to jump up and down in ecstasy.

"I can't believe it! I'm actually head girl!" she exclaimed still bouncing up and down. My eyes followed her up and down until they ached and I looked away. More precisely, I looked away to try and spot Jamie again.

But Jamie was hidden in the crowd.

After the assembly, everyone scurried out of the sports hall.  It was interesting to watch people and their ways in getting out. Some were rough and pushy, some depended on loud screeches rushing people, some quietly and patiently moved along with the crowd and some just talked to their friends, not caring how slow anyone went.

I was the last, well, Zoe was talking and I was listening. Others were popping in comments and remarks every now and then. I was just listening. The mainly told me about the school and of course, who was nice and who wasn't. That topic always comes up.

Lockers were set in alphabetical order. I was in the middle of my row in the Year 13 locker hall. Hale. That's my second name.I emptied my bag of my books into my locker, dumping them in a messy pile. My shoulders ached from the weight of my bag carrying my books. You wouldn't expect me to carry that all over the place.

I only needed my maths books. Everyone in Year 13 had one class today then they would sign up for their extra ciriculars in the hall. The captains and a selected few of each ciricular had no class so they could aet up their stands for people to sign up in. Maths class was going to be pretty small considering how everyone had to sign up for at least one ciricular (school spirit shit).

I slammed shut my locker with much force to shut in the spilling books. I'll have to fix that later. Zoe's face was directly behind the door, scaring me as I let out a small yelp, dropping the books in my hand.
