PROLOGUE

Darkness.

That's the first thing I remember.

It was cold, it was dark...

And I was scared...

My vision was blurry at first but clears up within a few seconds, eyes opening to be met with a light shining above me from a neon stand. I felt shivers down my spine, my breathe shaky with the edges of my lips twitching, from the cold air of night and I look up to the sky from where I was...

'W-where am i-i?' I thought in confusion, before adjusting my position while looking around the area...

'... And why am I, in an alleyway?'
Looking upward and saw a tall skyscraper, along with the sounds of cars driving passing by on the road.

'I m-must be i-in a ci-ity...'
I thought still shivering, my shoulders shaking lightly, I wrap my arms around myself then bring my hands close to my lips and blow to warm them up, I lean my back against the brick wall and ran my warm palms  against my arms, a deep sigh of relief from the warmth against my skin, and continue to rub my hands on my arms while my mind was still confused right now...

'W-wait, why am I in an alleyway?!? '
I realized in thought with confusion of this happening to me, I look at myself to see that I'm still in the same clothes of when I-... My mind went completely blank at the thought, when I was...

'Argh! Why can't I remember...'
slamming my palm against my head in frustration, sighing slowly as I got get up, feeling my arms and legs wobble as I try and walk around almost like jelly.

I felt light-headed and close to falling, placing my hands forward on the brick wall, slow and steady as I took one step at a time, regaining my balance and posture, walking my way out of the alleyway and to the streets of the city, lights glowing at night along with stores and restaurants open filled with hu—

'What the heck?!?'
My eyes widen, a gasp escaping my throat at what I saw, those stores and restaurants weren't filled with people. It was filled with... Animals! Acting like humans, wearing clothes, hats, glasses and shoes, using bags, books, phones you name it! It was like the human race evolved into mutant animals or something...

'T-this can't be happening right n-now, I-i'm dreaming! My mind is probably messing with me, filling my mind with such—'

My stomach growling loudly, my hunger longing for food to partake. I touch it for a moment with a sigh knowing It'll have to wait, because I'm not sure If I have money to buy things and possibly come out all of a sudden in a world where animals are roaming the earth as humans.

I walk back to the alleyway and thought for a moment 'How will I be able to stay here for a couple of nights...' surprisingly I find my bag pack behind a garbage chute, I immediately opened it to find some things there that I needed, my phone (with charger), extra clothes and my wallet...

I zip it up and leave the area, bringing my phone out going through my applications to try and get some information that I needed, opening the gallery.

'Well, my name is Jamie Nelson. Okay, that's a good start...' I began to see pictures of me with my family, my mom, dad, older sister, and brothers. The thought of how worried sick they might be of my sudden whereabouts, it was like my life flashing before my eyes.

I tried to remember, but I couldn't. It's like those memories have disappeared somehow. I started to tear up a bit from my failed attempt, then wipe the tears away from my cheeks and stood up, as I set off to try and find a place to stay, buy some supplies, I look at the time it was 9:00 PM. I walked around to find a mall and as I walked inside from the back entrance to find an almost abandoned area, it wasn't anything special, nor did it look any comfortable, but it her only option...

Sighing softly and walk inside, looking at my surroundings to see if anyone was around, setting my bag down, unzipping it while taking a sweater out and began to change, feeling a lot warmer in my jacket as my hood was over my head, it was still cold and even the sweater wasn't comforting my freezing body. I take my bag and set it down on the floor, as I lay myself down there with my head lying on my bag, still shivering, and a few tears were escaping my eyes as I held back the urge to cry before falling asleep.

Even though I had all the things I needed, I was lost and confused all at the same time, still having these questions on how or why I am here, I don't have a place to stay, food to eat, or people to reach out and talk to, I was lost...

Far from home,

With no family,

No friends,

and no home,

I'm all alone...
