*little bit of SPG singing and comedy for you*
The following day, Rabbit made sure to wind the dolls up to 'wake' them.
Their eyes fluttered open in sync, Doll looking around wearily and Clocky letting out a small yawn."Morning, girls. The others are waiting for you in the living room! come with me when you're ready, alright?" Rabbit asked.
Clocky and Doll nodded, dusting off their clothes they were wearing and adjusting their hair accessories.
Doll yawned softly, looking at her twin who was combing her hair with her fingers, using the window as a mirror. Doll copied her perfectly, her sandy curls falling around her shoulders.
Clocky looked at her watch she had hung around her neck, gently seizing her twin's hand and walking with her to the lounge of the manor.
The lack of doors confused them; the manor was fairly large. Wouldn't they need doors for protection of burglary?Clocky and Doll looked at Rabbit who was leading the way, his gears creaked a little as he continued moving, the sounds followed by the girls' small footsteps and light scraping of metal and porcelain when they moved their limbs or turned their heads to gaze at the 'family' portraits and weathered tapestries that seemed to tell different stories; one was of a sea captain, though they couldn't make out the name. Another was of a cowboy dressed in white and riding what looked like a mechanical horse. Another tapestry on the other side of the wall above the windows was a little more disturbing; it looked like some kind of war. A more sinister version of the Spine and Rabbit as well as another automaton fighting against a dark army, a colossal steam-powered giraffe in the background against towering copper elephants.
Rabbit turned around to see them looking a little disturbed at the war tapestry, gently ushering them into the lounge so they didn't have to witness the images even he would rather 'forget'.Inside the the lounge, which looked marginally smaller than any other room in the manor for some odd reason and like something you'd see in a Sherlock Holmes film, were a few more of the residents. The Spine looked up from his book and smiled, seeing his brother with the twins, Hatchworth and The Jon looking over curiously.
Doll hid her face and latched onto Rabbit's leg, seemingly shy, causing Clocky to mimic the action.
"G-Go on, it's o-ok" Rabbit reassured them. "They're o-o-our family."
Both of them looked at the other automatons, surprised that there were more robots than just Rabbit and The Spine.
"Rabbit, who are these two?" Hatchworth asked, looking curious. The Jon seemed excited to see two new faces.
"I'm gla-glad you asked, Hatchworth! These are Doll and Clocky, new me-mem-members to our family! aren't they c-cute?" Rabbit exclaimed, gesturing to the twins who stood together hand-in-hand. They looked at the automatons, waving a little.
"How old are you both?" The Jon asked curiously.
"We look around 12 years old-" Clocky began.
"But....I can't remember our real ages" Doll finished, shifting her left foot nervously.
"It's alright, little ladies" Spine said in a reassuring manner.
"Judging by your build and the types of gears used, I'd say you were both at least 50 or so."
The twins nodded, looking astounded.
"You're so clever, Mr Spine!" they gasped in shock, the response from The Spine being a modest smile, his hands clasped behind his back."I'm Upgrade!! And I haven't had an upgrade since the late 90s! Crazy, huh?" the other female robot piped up; she wore a black dress and newsboy cap, her face and body was made from dome kind of pink metal, as oppposed to Clocky and Doll's literal porcelain skin.
They nodded, Hatchworth and The John introducing themselves soon after Upgrade.
The sisters giggled at the John's childishness and upbeat personality, as he made various puns. His blue eyes were bright and almost gave off a human-like twinkle, Hatchworth asking if they liked badgers and sandwiches and the like."Mr Hatchworth?" Clocky spoke up, causing the bronze automaton to look in her direction.
"Yes, Clocky?" he asked with a smile.
"I can't help but feel there are other people here...humans, I mean."
"Ah, yes! The infamous Peter Walter VI and the Walter Girls" he said knowingly, being greeted with confused looks from the dolls.
"You'll get to meet them later, they're really nice" he added.
"Ok" the girls said in unison.Doll wound up Clocky's key when she saw it getting low, Clocky doing the same to her which peaked the John's interest.
"Clockwork, huh? Cool!" he exclaimed, the sisters grinning modestly.
"Thank you,The John" they replied simultaneously.
"No probs!" he declared excitedly, hands on his hips.
"Looks like we better prepare for double trouble, am I right?"A clang was heard as Spine facepalmed, Rabbit and the others laughing.
Doll nuzzled Clocky in a sisterly way, Clocky winking at her."This is gonna be great, sis. I can feel it" Clocky whispered to her.
"I'm still a l-little nervous about the walter girls"Doll whimpered.
"Don't worry, twinsie! If anything happens, we'll protect each other. Besides, Papa Rabbit won't let anything happen to us" Clocky whispered back."You promise?"
"I promise."
