"Go, soul, the body's guest, Upon a thankless errand; Fear not to touch the best; The truth shall be thy warrant." - Sir Walter Ralegh
Paige's POV
Ever since I was five years old, I've always been a good at "communicating" with people.
*Flashback, 8 Years Ago*
"So...what do we do in Secret Spy club?" Esme asked, spinning around on the stool in my room.
Immediately, I glared at her and shushed her.
"Esme!," I whisper shouted, "The first rule of Secret Spy Club is don't talk about Secret Spy Club!!"
"Okay, sorry." She raised her hands in surrender.
"If you wanna be spies like Angel and Cordy and Wesley and Fred and Gunn and Lorne, you have to be quiet." I raised a finger to my lips, signaling her.
"Angel, Cordy, Wesley, Fred, Gunn, and Lorne aren't spies," Lily commented, "They're private investigators."
"Whatever."
"What's your plan?" Lily asked.
I frowned. "How'd you know I have a plan?"
She shrugged. "I just knowed."
"Why can't I make a plan?" Esme whined.
"You can make the plan next time!" Lily offered.
"Okay, but-"
"GUYS!" I whisper-shouted. They both jumped a little and looked at me.
"What?" Esme asked, a little annoyed.
"Do you even wanna know my plan?"
"Yeah!" They both nodded vigorously.
I rolled my eyes.
*Flashback Over*
I walked through the doors of the Sunnydale High library, still dragging Angel by the arm.
"Hey, Uncle Giles," he turned around, "Meet my new Dad!"
He frowned. "What?"
"It's his new undercover status, apparently," I rolled my eyes, "This is Angel."
"The dark and broody one I was telling you about."
He opened his mouth to speak.
"Yes, he is a vampire. He's wearing the Ring of Amara so he won't burst into flames."
"And yes, he has a soul. So he's good. "Most of the time." I mumbled under my breath.
"He won't eat you unless you pleasure him, and god, I cannot describe how much I don't even wanna think about that!" I exclaimed, making a face.
Giles gave me a look.
"Hey. It's the truth. Do your research, research boy."
"Okay, can someone please tell me what's going on here?" Angel asked, impatient.
Giles and I exchanged glances.
He raised his eyebrows and gave a small nod.
"Well, basically, blah, blah, blah, I'm from an alternate universe, blah, blah, blah, I know you in it, blah, blah, blah, and that's why I know you here. Blah, blah, blah."
Giles raised an eyebrow again.
Told you I'm good at communicating with people.
"So...You're telling me, you're...from an alternate universe? And...You need know me?"
But he's obviously not.
I threw my hands up. "God, you men are all the same!"
They looked at each other.
"So...what am I like in this...alternate universe?" He said, trying to be all cool.
I stared at him, unimpressed, and crossed my arms.
"Exactly the same. Oh, wait, except you have a job, friends, you're just a little-" I made a gesture with my fingers, "-less of a loner, and more stuff that I'm not gonna say."
"Okayyyy..."
I rolled my eyes.
We filled Angel in on a few more details, (not as much as Giles knew though), and then he left, with his black coat trailing behind him.
I had a feeling it wouldn't be the last we'd see of him.
