It was a very standard day at Stanfield High School. Pyro Kitmen, Lulu Aquamoon, and Trevor Gust had met up in their homeroom and were waiting  for second period, where they would meet up with their incredibly nerdy friend, Rose Wallace.

She was the oldest, and most "mom-like". Which earned her, unironically, the nickname "Mom". She had shoulder blade length blonde hair and mossy eyes. She was the only one not in a club. She opted for spending time in the woods with her white rabbit instead.

The youngest, Lulu, was the most all-over-the-place. She always had a swimsuit on under her school uniform. She was also the group's loudest extrovert, and quietest introvert. She had light blue butt-length hair that faded into dark purple and sea blue eyes.

Next came Andrew "Pyro" Kitmen. He is the second youngest. He changed his name before high school from Andrew to Pyro. He'd gotten a reputation for being a pyromaniac. He was considered incredibly dangerous. In fact, the last person who called him an idiot was tied to the ceiling and was nearly set ablaze. The boy wore his bright orange hair in spikes with, again, matching eyes.

Finally, there's Trevor. He was the group's resident "hippie".  He was in the soccer club and was only slightly worse in school than Rose. He dawned snowy white hair and dark green eyes.

Here we are now, their second period, History! The teenagers were covering local history/legend in the class.

"Air moves us. Fire transforms us. Water shapes us. Earth heals us." The teacher began telling his class about the town's lore. These teachings got Rose's head spinning.

"Sir, how scientific is that?" She asked, faintly hearing Pyro sigh behind her, settling in for a debate and/or lecture. Fun!

The teacher told her that if she wanted to find answers, she should look in Harmony Forest. (Dorky name, right?) A glimpse back to her friends told them, "Clear your schedules"!

Lulu and Trevor were the least happy about this. They had club activities that day, so they needed this exploration to go quickly.

Pyro wasn't a fan of the impromptu plan either. He always hated being near trees, since they had the tendency to randomly burst into flames while he was nearby.

Anyhow, they went along with the blonde's plan, knowing there was no way she was going alone. After wading through four classes and lunch, the four were on their way.

"Rose, you have to make this quick, Trevor and I have our clubs to get to." Lulu whined.

"Also, if the entire forest goes up in flames, you're the one bailing me out of jail."

"Okay and don't take out your lighters and stay calm."

Pyro rolled his eyes and pulled on his backpack. The boys were dressed in uniforms identical to the ones at Rira Acadamy from Durarara!!.

The girls wore white long sleeved shirts with a red bow. They had short blue skirts and standard white shin-high socks.

"Get your stuff and meet me at the school gates." Rose smiled, running off to her locker. The group remaining sighed, but went to their lockers as well.

They met with their bags moments later.

"Away we go!" The oldest grabbed Trevor's wrist and ran off.

The others followed, trudging along boredly. Soon, they reached the forest.

The trees were tall and twisted, weaving in and out of each other like the threads on a sweater. Rose led the charge into the woods, somehow finding the perfect rout through the interlaced foliage. She was closely followed by match wielding Pyro. Trevor and Lulu just followed the other two.

They wandered until they found a cave. At the base of it, carved in the stones, was 'Trevor Gust, Andrew Kitmen, Lulu Aquamoon, Rose Wallace, enter."

"That's awfully suspicious." Trevor examined the neat print.

"Definitely. Exercise caution while in the cave." Rose reported to the impatient swimmer and pyromaniac.

"They enter the dark cave..."  Pyro narrated.

"Knock it off!" Rose hissed in return.

"Sorry!" He said defensively.

"It's too dark in here..." Trevor complained.

"I can fix that!" The former smiled. He slung his bag off his shoulder and pulled out another tiny match.

"How is that supposed to do anything for us?" The blonde asked.

"Rose, don't doubt him." Lulu sighed, scooting closer to Trevor, clearly spooked a little.

The pyromaniac rolled his eyes, lit the match, then reached into his bag once more, revealing a bundle of sticks.

"Wait, why do you have those in there?" Rose asked sassily.

"I honestly dunno. Some kid ran up to me earlier and threw 'em screaming about how useful they'd be."

The three shrugged. Pyro held the dying match to the bundle of tinder and let it slowly become engulfed.

"And you say I'm crazy for bringing a box of matches with me everywhere."

A sigh erupted from the other students before they continued to walk deeper.

The group arrived in a circular room divided into fourths. They entered and each gravitated to the quarter in which they seemed to belong.

"Air moves us." Trevor began as wind blew around him like a tornado.

"Fire transforms us." Pyro continued as a ring of fire appeared around of him rising higher and higher like a forest fire.

"Water shapes us." Lulu went on as a little waterfall fell down to the floor and circled her.

"Earth heals us." Rose finished as bushes and flowers of all different kinds circled around Rose.

A brilliantly bright light radiated from the the hearts of the four.

"Welcome to your destiny, children." A warm, motherly voice ricocheted off the walls. The light enveloped the teenagers, gently lifting them into the air.

The room dissolved around them, as they silently drifted away from each other to their own locations.

The four were transported to a large island separated like the room they were just in. Each was designed for their element, but also held their beginning trials.

Lulu was laid at a seashore. Pyro the peak of a volcano. Trevor was on a cloud, and Rose was in a tree. At the middle of the island sat a cave with The Darkness's first minion, awaiting the children's arrival.

Slowly, the four regained consciousness.

Hi people! It's us. We're so sorry for the delay. We're trying to write around 1000 words per chapter. It's a wild ride, this writing business. Anywho! See you in the next chapter! -YinYang
