The next day, I woke up to knocking on the door.

"Come in," I mumbled grouchily. "What could you possibly want at this hour of the morning?"

The sun was barely shining through the window, the sky still dark with streaks of light in it.

Thorin came into the room, squinting at me. "You're a mess," he muttered. "Get up!"

I blinked several times to get my vision in line. "Why? Is there an emergency?" I sat up quickly, grabbing my boots.

"No!" Thorin stared at me. "You truly ARE a mess, though. Get the rest of your clothes on, and comb your hair. Isabele wants to talk about the wedding, and people want to talk to you two about your marriage."

I slowly put on a shirt, groaning as I stretched.

Thorin scowled. "Hurry up now! People are waiting, and you don't want to leave your soon-to-be wife outside with a bunch of strangers!" He glared at me as he plodded out of my room.

"Look who's grumpy today," I muttered. When I was finished putting on my clothes, I hurried out of my room, and outside into the beautiful morning sun shining on the glittering pond, where small ducks were floating around. I saw Isabele talking to a younger elf woman, smiling and shaking her hand.

"Hello!" I smiled at Isabele. "Good morning, isn't it?"

Isabele laughed happily. "Many people were excited to meet their new dwarven prince! Meet Nataya. Her mother is one of the nobles here, and she had never met a dwarf before."

I smiled joyfully at her. "Hello! I'm Fili."

Nataya looked at me shyly. "Hi," she whispered.

I grinned down at her. The day flew by, with lots of talking, laughing, and dancing. The elves were joyous, and excited to meet me.

That night, Isabele came over to me, exhilarated and happy. "The wedding is in just a couple days!" she squealed. She drew me into a huge hug, filled with passion.

"I sure am, too," I whispered. "You are just so beautiful."

Isabele drew in a breath. "When do you wish to go back to Erebor?"

"Whenever you want to, my dear." I kissed her lightly on the cheek. "We have a big day tomorrow; We must set up for the wedding, help get some invitations out, and so many other things."

Isabele drew back, and looked at me. "Would you mind if I fell asleep in your bed, with you?"

I winked. "Of course!"

She laughed, her voice resonating throughout the hallway. We walked to my room, and got into bed together.

"Goodnight, my darling," I whispered. I grasped Isabele's hand in mine, and squeezed. "I love you."

She looked over at me. "I never knew I'd fall in love with a dwarf."

"I never knew I'd fall in love with an elf," I sighed.

It had been a long day, and the moonlight was beaming through the window, casting shadows all over the room. Isabele's dark hair shined in the light, her face peaceful and untroubled. I could hear whispering voices filled with joy, and smiled. It was perfect.
