Y/N POV~
The drafty alley way was like a shield, blinding me with its protective darkness as the busy streets of trading booths was filled with busy buyers. The only thing powering me was that amazing smell of bread, fish, and other trading goods. But the one thing I was focused on was that delicious bread smell from the booth from Wall Sina.
Under the covers of darkness I stared with beast like eyes at the booth. Like it was holding the world's greatest feast. Running the booth was a older man with a fearsome grin. Little did this man know I was about to rob him blind.
I cleaned myself up. Taking the twigs out forcefully, also pulling some strands of hair from my head. I wiped my shirt of any dirt hoping I looked.......somewhat ok. Okay (Y/N) time for those years of sneaking tactics from the city of Yogurt to come in handy.
Sneaking out of the alley I pull up the old Scout hood to hide my face. The only difference is I cut off the wings of freedom off the back. This way no one can point me out easily. My boots bring me over to the booth only problem is that they leave heavy tracks in the dirty path. Hopefully that won't bite me in the ass later. I push through the wave of people.
"Come one, come all! The finest food in these walls right here!" Oh dear God yes. Even a crumb of that would set me for life. Hastily I make my way to the side of the booth. I put my back up against the old wood that makeup the old booth. The smell is now irresistible I need a distraction. Think (y/n) think what do old man what most in this world of terror? My (e/c) eyes widen. THATS IT! I pull a coin from my pants pocket. This is my only chance. I flip the coin out of hand and past the man's face. "Ooo lucky me." He snickers with a nasty grin. As he bends down to grab the old cent I sneak a larger piece of bread. But oh God. Is that blueberry sauce? I need that in my life. I'm to the point of drooling. As I go to grab the small mason jar. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?! GARRISON!" Crap I need to go.
Clutching the bread to my chest I run against the crowd. "HEY GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!" My legs still ached and my feet were covered with blisters but somehow I still ran faster but not fast enough. I ran around corners and up walls. I eventually ran over roofs toward some abandoned streets. I need some place to rest but I can hear those soldiers coming closer. Jumping down I find an very slim area between two houses. My knees fall to my knees as I collapse. There's no where for me to go without being suspected. If only I could hide away from the surface. I stand up and peak around the corners of the stone houses. Huh? There on the street was a.....stairway? But it was being guarded by 4 garrison. Why would they waste their time doing such a stupid task? "Hey the three of you help locate and capture the stowaway from the Scout Regiment. There was a siting near the market district and we believe it might be them." "YES SIR" Three of the guards zoom off while the last stands at a stoic pose on the left side of the stairway.
Here is my chance. I sneak in a crouch position towards the mysterious stairway. The first thing to notice is the darkness that consumed the edge and continued on down. Well this smelled of interest to me. Slowly I placed my foot down on the first step and carefully made my way down. I was soon also consumed by the same darkness the stairs were covered with. If only I had some form of light. I kept slowly making my way down the dirt and concrete stairs. Why would they want to guard a thing like this? "Woah." (Epic look over city music ACTIVATE) Right there. Right in front of me. A huge city, filled to the brim with large boarded up buildings. The only illumination given was by the torches that the stairs carried on their sides. Noises could only be heard if you were listening closely. But they were there. Voices of marketers, dogs that were probably stray, and loud squeaky noises. Probably of old wagons through the streets.
Finally with all my courage I ran down the old stairs. My feet feeling and regretting my mind's choice. Every step I took could be heard from miles up and on each one my body regretted even more. But even with my body being broken down slowly I couldn't help but be more and more interested. My thoughts were clouded by what this place could hold. Maybe someone who could help me.
