Unexpected

Chapter 4

Lucy arrived at Kelly and Brooks' house shortly after 8pm to find everyone had already made it there. She a tad but frustrated that Matt was late giving her the message that the girls were getting together but forgave him when she realized how exhausted he was. Working on the new album had taken a lot out of all the guys which was probably why Kelly was trying to get them all together. But it was taking a harder toll on Matt because his voice wasn't cooperating. More and more he found himself sucking on throat lozenges and sipping hot tea after rehearsal. The doctor had assured him that he just needed rest but it was hard for a man who was always zero to a hundred.

That didn't make him easy to live with at the moment. The stress of moving and Charlie staying behind in Anaheim on top of everything made things pretty tense. She was thankful for the girls night out.

"Lucy! You made it," Kelly exclaimed as she opened the door. "I was starting to worry you weren't coming."

"I wouldn't miss it for the world," Lucy said honestly as she walked into the living room to find her friends sitting and sipping wine. "Where is Lacey?"

"She was tired," Vix replied "I guess pregnancy zaps your energy."

Lucy eyed Vix's wine glass at the mention of pregnancy. "Are you sure you should be drinking that?"

"One glass can't hurt," Vix replied as Lucy accepted her own glass from Kelly.

"I'm so glad we're all here," Kelly announced as she dimmed the lighting. "I'm setting a little mood light so we can begin the evening."

"No offense, Kel," Zoey said as she dropped herself onto the couch "But you're not my type."

Kelly didn't seem offended. She just laughed. "Look I just know that the guys are pretty distracted with the new tour and album coming up....so we may have to take control of keeping romance on the track."

"Uh," Vix looked confused, almost horrified as she turned to Lucy. "And we are talking about this why? Is this a weird thing that you guys go through when new music comes out?"

"Don't look at me," Lucy replied "Matt and I got back together after Hail to the King came out. This is my first time through this process."

"Wow," Zoey said calculating. "Has it really been three years since that one came out? Boy they really do need some new music. This will be the fourth album they've put out since Brian and I have been married." She beamed with happiness.

"So that still doesn't explain what the hell Kelly is talking about." Vix said.

"Well, tonight...we're going to start by celebrating our sexuality," Kelly announced.

"Are we going to read passages from Fifty Shades Darker?" Zoey asked "If so I'm out of here...that book isn't my idea of realistic sexuality."

"True," Vix agreed "If Christian Grey hadn't been rich, it would have been a SVU episode."

"We're straying," Kelly said. "We've all been married for a long time."

"AHEM," Vix said loudly. "not married."

"Well you and Zacky have been together for a while now and no matter how much we love our significant others, things can get a little stale especially when they get distracted by their job," Kelly explained.

"Or not," Vix drawled with her cat's smile and brown eyes glittering.

"Okay," Zoey smirked "Getting the cops called on us because we couldn't wait to get into the house isn't my idea of...."

"Oh MY GOD," Vix cut her off "It was ONE time."

"One time too many..And ew...That's my brother we are talking abou," Zoey mumbled and they all snickered.
