Safety and loss (Chapter 16)

Optimus's pov

    I was running to the building Sam was at so Megatron couldn't get him nor the cube. I saw Starscream on one building and shot the helicopter Sam was putting the cube into. Then I saw Megatrons son. Eclipse's best friend. He pointed his gun towards his father but got thrown back from a gunshot by Starscream.  "Hang on Sam." I said as I ran past him and almost fell of the building. "Is it fear or courage that compels you, fleshling?" I could here Megatron say to Sam. I grabbed a hold of one building and put my feet on the other so I wouldn't fall. "Give me the allspark and you shall live to be my pet." Megatron told Sam. The next thing I knew I heard a gun go off and saw Sam fall from the building and I caught him. "I got you, boy." I said to him so he knew he was ok. "Hold on to the cube." I said to him as I slid down the buildings holding onto Sam. Megatron Jumped down onto me and We fell to the ground. I looked down into my hand to see Sam still safe. "Sam?" i said to him. He looked towards me with the cube in his hands. "You risked your life to protect the cube." "No sacrifice, no victory." Sam said to me looking at me. "If I cannot defeat Megatron,..." I started to say then continued. "You must push the cube into my chest. I will sacrifice myself to destroy it." I said to him. I just want the humans,my friends, and my little femee to be safe. "Get behind me." I told him as he followed my instructions. "It's you and me, Megatron." I said to him ready to fight. "No,it's just me, prime." He said getting up. "At the end of this day one shall stand, one shall fall." I told him as he threw me into the street again. "You still fight for the weak! That is why you lose! My niece doesn't deserve a creator(father) like you. "Megatron said as he walked up to me throwing me again. Megatron kicked me after he walked up to me. When I was on the ground Megatron was about to walk up to me again he was shot by missiles coming from the humans. He was shot to the ground. Sam was almost stepped on when Megatron ran past. I grabbed him in my servos as Megatron fell to the ground again."I'll kill you."Megatron said to Sam as he was backing up. "Mine! Allspark!" he said to Sam trying to take the cube. " I looked over to Sam. I knew I couldn't defeat Megatron and the cube couldn't get in his hands. This is my last hope to save this planet and make sure Eca would be safe. A tear fell down my face plate as I yelled " Sam! Put the cube in my chest! Now!" I said as we were losing time. "Sam." I yelled to him. He ran up and held the cube to Megatrons spark and destroyed it. Megatron screemed in agony as he fell to the ground. His spark extinguished. I stood up and slowly walked over to Megatron. "You left me no choice, brother." I said to him. "Sam I owe you my life." I said to him "We are in your Debt." I said smiling at him. "DADDY." I heard Eclipse yell to me. I looked up as she ran up to my arms and hugged me. "Eca."I said back so happy that she is safe. I saw Nightblaze behind her. I looked back down at her. I could tell that she was and is leaking (crying)."What's wrong?" I asked her. She pointed over to Ironhide who had Jazz in his arms. He was in two pieces, torn in half. Then Ironhide spoke up. "Prime, we couldn't save him." He told me. I let go of Eclipse and stood up. Ironhide handed Jazz to me. I sighed. "Jazz. We lost a great comrade but gained new ones. Thank you, all of you. You honor us with your bravery." I said. "Permission to speak,sir?" Bumblebee asked with his voice fixed. "Permission granted, old friend." I replied back to him smiling . "He can speak now?" "Uncle bumblebee got his voice back? YEAY." Eca Cheered. "I wish to stay with the boy." Bumblebee said to me. "If that is his choice." I replied back to bumblebee. Sam looked over to bumblebee and smiled. "Yes." Sam said. I looked over to Nightblaze who was looking down at his father. I put Jazz down and walked up to him. "You knew you were going to get hurt if you went against your father. Why did you do so?" I asked him wanting to know. He looked up to me than back to his father.  "My mother taught me better then to go into the darkness. She told me to not go to the decepticon side no matter what happens, even though my father was there. She wanted me to be an autobot like she was. To protect our kind and keep others safe. I promised her I would do whatever it takes to bring down my father. Even if it meant getting a little banged up." He said with a short chuckle at the end. I looked down to Megatron. He had a piece of the all spark inside his spark chamber. I took it out and clenched it in my fist. 'I'm sorry.' I said to megatron quietly as I stood up.
