It'd been about the worst day of my life. First, my cat got outside and ran away, then when I got to school, the first thing I did was fall over and flash everyone. Ugh, what an embarrassing day. I breathed a heavy sigh as I walked down the sidewalk. I just wanted to go home. I scuffed my feet and slouched as I walked, feeling the lasting presence of the day's events. I finally go to my little apartment and went inside. I lived alone, both my parents were in England and left me here to fend for myself. I didn't mind though. It was quite nice having the house to myself. I didn't know how I was going to tell them about our cat getting loose though.

I threw my backpack on the couch and myself beside it, sighing with relief. I kicked off my shoes. Another perk of having the house to myself was that I would pretty much do whatever I wanted, though sometimes it got quite boring. I rose from the couch and opened the refrigerator. I groaned in annoyance.

"Ugh, really!? No food? Guess I'll have to go grocery shopping. Better go while it's still light out," I said to myself, sliding on my shoes and making sure I had enough money. I wouldn't be out long. I shut and locked the door behind me, and began walking to the store. It was a few blocks away, but I could deal. As I walked, I could feel the breeze getting cooler. I could smell the salt of the sea on the coast. "Maybe I should have brought a coat," I murmured to myself, rubbing my arms. I continued walking as it kept getting colder. I shivered and wondered if I should head back. I was almost there. I heard the shuffle of feet close behind me. I gasped and spun around. There was nothing there. I took a deep breath and chuckled to myself. I turned back around and continued walking.

I could see the store up ahead and I was getting closer and closer. I heard the feet shuffle again. I stopped, but didn't turn around. "Hello?" I called out. No response. 'Ugh, stop it, [y/n]. You're just freaking yourself out!' I thought to myself. I ran the rest of the way, reaching the safety of the market place. I grabbed a basket and starting picking up what I needed for the apartment.

After checking out, I went back outside. I had forgotten about the strange noises until I reached the next block when I heard a deep toned chuckle in the wind. I stopped and shook slightly. "Is anyone there?" I called out again. I heard another chuckle.

"My...what is a little girl doing out at this hour?" the voice asked. A man stood before me. He had long, crimson hair and a wicked smiled crossing his face. "Shouldn't you be safe at home?" he asked. I averted my eyes to the ground and felt my legs shaking.

"Yes, possibly. I needed food. If you'll excuse me," I said, starting to walk past him. He snickered and slammed me against the wall of a building, causing my to drop my groceries on the ground. He opened his mouth and revealed his barbed fangs. A Vampire?? I wondered in fright.

"I can't just let such a delicious looking thing walk by. Won't you let me have a taste?" he asked, licking my neck with his warm, wet tongue. I whimpered and struggled. "It's no use, girl. You're mine," he said, sinking his fangs into my flesh. I cried out. My body tingled as he drank my blood, I started to feel weak. I moaned and whimpered as he softly licked the wound. "You are delicious. You might not live through this feeding," he said, returning to my neck.

"Get away from her!" a voice shouted. The man was immediately ripped off of me, tearing my skin. I cried out. Before me stood a tall, blonde haired man. I recognized him. He was the student council president, Rem Koginuki. My vision then went blurry as I started to pass out.

*Time Skip*

I woke up to the sound of talking. I opened my eyes to see Rem, holding me in his arms. I blushed feverishly. I looked around the room and saw the rest of the student council boys staring at me. I sat up. There was a girl beside Rem and I, scowling and pouting. I recognized her from one of my classes. Ritsuka Tachibana. She was Rem's girlfriend. I leapt off the president's lap and apologized to Ritsuka.

"I'm so sorry," I said, bowing. My head got light and I wobbled. I introduced myself kindly. I maintained my balance. She sighed and smiled.

"It's alright. Do you want to go home? I think Rem would be able to take you, right Rem?" she asked, looking up to him lovingly.

"I don't know if it's a good idea for her to be alone right now. Ritsuka...would you mind...taking her home with you for the night. I'm sure Lindo and your mother won't mind." he suggested, smiling back at her. Just then there was a knock on the door.

"Speak of the exorcist," Shiki, the black haired boy said. The door opened and a red haired man walked in. I guessed he was Lindo, Ritsuka's cousin. Rem explained everything to Lindo and he agreed to let me stay at their house. He mentioned that their mother was gone for the weekend, but that he didn't mind me there. I thanked him, bowing again. I got light headed and started to tumble. I was caught by warm, strong arms. I looked up to see Lindo holding me close to him, arms wrapped around me. I blushed.

"Thank you, L-Lindo," I said. Looking up into his blue eyes. He smiled.

"You're welcome, [y/n]." He carried me out to his car and drove us to their house. He came around to the side I was on and carried me to the house. I was held close to his chest and I could smell his sweet cologne.

When we got inside he set me in the dining chair and turned on the light.

"Can I see your neck?" he asked, getting a warm, wet cloth. I lifted my head up. He wiped the dried blood away from the wounds. I whimpered as it scraped across. "I'm sorry. It'll be over quickly." he said. He kissed my forehead. "Good job. It's over for now. Would you like a bath? I'm sure you've had a rough day." I blushed. A bath? It did sound nice, actually. I nodded. "Can you stand?" he asked, grasping my hand in his.

"I think so." I took his hand and hoisted myself up. I steadied myself on my feet and began walking behind him, still holding his hand. He lead me up the stairs where Ritsuka was standing in the bathroom.

"Your bath is all ready, [y/n]." she said, smiling kindly. I smiled back and then blushed.

"I...don't really have a change of clothes..." I said quietly. Lindo looked to Ritsuka.

"Don't worry. I'll lend you some pajamas! Hold on." she ran down the hall and into her bedroom.

"You...gonna be alright in here...by yourself?" Lindo asked, blushing and averting his eyes. I blushed and nodded as Ritsuka came back out with a set of pajamas. I said my thanks and closed the door behind me.

I took a deep breath and stripped off my dirty, street clothes. I stepped into the bath and sat down, letting the steamy water lap my body. I let out a sigh of relief. I washed my body, making sure I was clean and climbed out of the tub. I drained the water and dried myself off with the towel. In the mirror, I lifted my neck, eyeing the holes in my neck. I felt tears well up in my eyes. I tried to blink them away, but the fell down my cheeks just the same. I sniffled and slid on the short, nightgown. I looked at the wounds again, touching them gently. It stung. Tears still fell down my cheeks as I walked out of the bathroom. Lindo was waiting outside the door and smiled at me. When he saw the tears, the smile faded and he wrapped me up in his arms lovingly.

"What's wrong?" he asked, placing a hand on the back of my head. I sniffled.

"I don't know." I said, muffled against his chest. He lifted me up bridal style and carried me down the stairs, setting me on the couch.

He wrapped medical gauze around my neck, covering the wounds. When he was done, he grabbed a blanket from the back of the couch and wrapped me and him up in it. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to him. "You can sleep if you want. I know you must be exhausted," he said, stroking my hair gently. I smiled and blushed. I nodded a little and laid my head against his warm, loving chest. I listened to his heart beat and steady breaths as I fell asleep. I felt him shift his hand up to my cheek. He lifted my face to his and pressed his lips softly to mine. I blushed and laid my head back down, falling asleep.
