The Hospital

"I want to be in the same room as Alice!" Rachel yelled at the nurse. She was trying to put us in separate rooms, Rachel wouldn't have that.

"Fine, follow me and I'll show you both to your room." The nurse walked down the hall and we followed. She took us to the last room on the right.

"Thank you." I said to the nurse as I put my hand on her shoulder.

"Here are your gowns, hurry up and get changed. The police are waiting to talk to you." She rolled her eyes and handed me both of the hospital gowns. I guess it doesn't pay to be nice. I shut the hospital room door and handed Rachel her hospital gown. We turned our backs to each other and changed.

"Are you done?" Rachel asked so she knew if she could turn around or not.

"I'm done. I wonder if our parents know we are here. I miss my mom so much." I said as I thought out loud.

"I don't know the cops might have contacted them. Open the door so they know we're done. The quicker we get this done, the sooner we will see them." Rachel told me. I opened the door to see a male officer standing in front of it.

"Rachel, Alice; my name is Officer Lewis. I need to know what happened. I know it may be hard to talk about it but it's imperative." He waved as he introduced himself. He walked into the room and made a hand gesture for us to get in bed. Rachel and I sat down on the same bed waiting for him to start speaking. It was silent.

"When can we see our parents?" I asked to break the silence.

"They are on their way." Officer Lewis answered me and slightly smiled. "I need you girls to tell me what happened from the beginning." His eyes directed at me. I guess he wanted me to start since I went missing first.

"Well I had this dating app and I met a man named Sam, he seemed like a nice guy. I was talking to another guy named Alex though so I only wanted Sam as a friend." I stopped after remembering Alex again. I really wanted to see him. "After a few weeks of talking to them; my ex-boyfriend committed suicide, or so I thought-"

"What do you mean you thought?" Officer Lewis cut me off.

"It was all staged, Travis did it. He told me he did, he even wrote the 'suicide note.' It's so horrible; I knew he wouldn't have killed himself. After it all sunk in before I was kidnapped, I blamed myself for his suicide." I began to cry. There was no way to feel better about this. Either way; his death was still my fault.

"Go on with your story." He said as he dragged a chair close to the bed and took a seat.

"I felt depressed and nobody could come over. I didn't want to be alone after Steven died. Sam was my last resort; I met him at the convenience store. Nobody was there, I messaged him and he said that he was inside. I waited for him on the side of the building, I wasn't thinking straight. He came up behind me and that's all I remember from that day. He drugged me, he wasn't even Sam. The man was my teacher at school, Travis Gale." I stopped talking for a moment to catch my breath while Officer Lewis caught up on his notes. "He was obsessed with me; he said he was in love with me! He choked me until I almost died. He bought a cat for me so I wasn't lonely. I started to give up and I tried to kill myself. He found me and didn't let me die. He brought Rachel down and I felt dead inside." I started crying thinking about the next part I was going to tell him. "He made me kill Ashley; if I didn't do it he would have killed Rachel. I'm so sorry, I didn't want to. I didn't have any other choice. He talked about two week processing and said that's what everyone else before me went through. He kidnapped those other girls then he killed them. He raped me I don't know what else to tell you." I completely broke down. Officer Williams stood up and left the room. Rachel hugged me tight; she knew the pain I was going through. The bad thing happened to me more than her.

"It's going to be okay, Al. We're free now." Rachel assured me.

"Where is Precious?" I asked.

"I think Officer Williams took her along with the shoe box." She answered. There was a knock on the door. Rachel and I quickly looked to see who it was. My mom and her dad were standing in the doorway. They were both crying, seeing their tears made my heart ache. They both ran into the room and hugged us; it was one long big group hug. Once they finally let go the both took a set at the bottom of the bed.

"I'm so happy you two are safe now." My mother said as she cried. Her eyes were weary; she even had the bags to compliment them. Her bags were so heavy they almost looked purple; she obviously didn't sleep much. As for Rachel's dad; I've never seen a man so distraught. I looked down and watched their hands join together, they must of spent a lot of time together.

"Who did this to you girls?" Rachel's dad's demeanor changed. His voice went deep in anger.

"It was Mr. Gale." Rachel cried as she answered her father's question. I was too upset to speak. My mother looked at me with so much hurt in her eyes; I could tell she wanted me to talk. She wasn't going to push it though, she understood. Rachel's dad got off of the bed and stormed out of the room. I could hear him shouting down the hall. My mother leaned forward and kissed my cheek.

"We brought a couple of people that have been worried about you two." My mom said as she got off of the bed and walked out of the room. I didn't feel like seeing anybody else. A couple of minutes later she came back, Alex and David were standing right behind her. I quickly hid my face; I didn't want Alex to see me like this. I glanced over at Rachel and her eyes lit up. The boys came in the room while my mom waited in the door way.

"How did you get her?" I asked Alex, with my face still hidden.

"Long story short; the police thought I had something to do with your disappearance. I reached out to your mother and I helped everyone search for you. After a couple of days I started going over to your house to help out." Alex explained and my heart melted. I looked over to my mom and she nodded her head in agreement to what Alex said. I revealed my face and Alex's eyes shifted to the bruising on my neck. I could see the sympathy for me in his eyes. He hugged me tight. I could tell he actually cared about me. I'm not going to let him go.

A police officer came and stood in from of the door as if he was guarding it. When Rachel's father came back to the room he stopped to talk to the cop.

"What's going on?" He asked the officer.

"Travis Galejust arrived to the hospital; he's getting treated for a stab wound before hegoes to the county jail. I'm here for protection and security reasons." Iheard the officer respond.
